CELEBRATING AWARDS

Dear Fellow Bloggers,

I have lost blogging momentum, due to family circumstances, so my acceptance to award nominations will be combined in this one post.  As I’ve mentioned before, these nominations always come as a surprise and I’m always humbled, honored and grateful that my writing has touched so many readers.

When I first began this blog last October and started sharing my poetry, my insecurity weighed heavily on my mind.  I was thrilled to have had one reader, one like and one comment.  Then, over time,  things grew…I hope you can “feel” my sincerity when I “say” I’m very, very thankful.  And just to clarify, it’s not the recognition, but the opportunity to “touch” others, “move” others, emotionally and make others “feel” when they read~  Thank you so much for “listening.”

I’d like to begin with my nominations for the One Lovely Blog Award by Capricioussoul, amaltaas.wordpress.com & Will of Heart, http://willofheart.wordpress.com.  Thanks to both of them for their wonderful blogs and inspiration and for their lovely support to me.  They are beautiful souls and are deserving of this award.  I’m blessed to have met them and I ask you to visit them, if you haven’t, yet.

Next, I am truly happy to have been nominated for the Genuine Blogger Award.  This award is new to my blogging knowledge and I was thrilled!  My thanks goes to Autumn & Gabby, http://autumnsunshineandgabrielleangel.wordpress.com, Soma, http://somkritya.wordpress.com, Deb, http://365daysofcourage.wordpress.com/ and Betty, http://raindancepoetry.wordpress.com for nominating me.  These are all lovely and truly genuine ladies and I encourage you to visit their blogs, if you haven’t already. What an honor this is, and I say a “genuine” Thank you!

Now, I’d like to express my deepest “Thank you” for my nominations for The Kreativ Blogger Award.  My gratitude goes to Nita, http://nitabrownsugah.wordpress.com and Linda, http://lindawillows.wordpress.com. Again, I am blessed to have met these two beautiful souls in blogland and am honored they thought of my blog for this wonderful award.  Please pay them a visit, as well!

Now, I’d like to thank MaryAnne, http://maryannepale.com, for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award.  Again, I’m extremely honored and thankful for this nomination and I encourage you to visit her site, where you’ll find honesty, strength and inspiration.  Thank you!

And last, but not least, I am humbled by my nomination for the Candle Lighter Award by Eric, http://ericalaganfanclub.wordpress.com.  He is a perfect recipient of this award, therefore, I’m honored he passed it on to me…I’m repeating myself, but please visit his inspiring and moving blog and you won’t be disappointed.

The Candle Lighter Award is an award for a post or blog that is positive and brings light into the world.  This award belongs to those who believe, who always survive the day, who never stop dreaming, and who do not quit, but keep trying.

I believe the blogs who nominated me fit into this category and there are so many great blogs in this blogging world we participate in, that do, as well.  At this time, I’m not able to make suggestions and pass on these awards.  However, I’m going to ask and encourage you to visit and read new blogs and pass on the encouragement and support you have received.  If you’d like to check out my blog roll, it is filled with great talent, inspiration, photography and love.  I also encourage you to continue on your familiar journeys with blogs you follow and I know my encouragement isn’t necessary!

In putting this post together, I pray that I haven’t made any mistakes…so, in ending, I express my gratitude, one more time, to these wonderful bloggers and to all of you out there, whom I would gladly share my happiness with~

Blessings to you all,  Lauren

Happy 23rd Anniversary, Honey ♥

They say my heart lies on my sleeve
I can’t disagree, nor will I try
There’s another manner, though,
For me to prove that you’re my guy

In every verse, in every line
My feelings show quite clear
It’s impossible for me to hold back joy
That you’ve brought so near

How can I convey the importance of you?
What new words can I write?
Simply said, with you in my life
I always find the light

I’m a romantic, plain to see
This is silly, mushy and sappy
But, I don’t think it matters
If I’m truly, truly happy

You should be sure now, just how I feel
With each year, you’re loved more and more
Happy Anniversary, My Husband and Best Friend
Forever and ever, I will adore

UNFAIR ASSUMPTIONS

She has only one mission
With state aid in hand
To buy the prettiest cake
Then she tries not to listen

As they snicker and whisper
Like in a bubble
Tunnel vision blinds them
To the entire picture

Callous words cut to her core
Deploring their conjectures
She strongly pushes forward
For her darling little girl

Through their mean masquerading
How would they know
Her daughter battles cancer
Inside she’s justly aching

Six flames may truly be
The most she’ll ever wish over
While sustaining her composure
Mommy does what’s necessary

Longing to silence heartless voices
As with a bar of soap
She contains her emotions
And follows through with choices

Them and the frosty grocer
They’re not worth the stress
Her daughter needs her home
This trip is brought to closure

MORNING

A little past dawn
Light invites itself
streaming through
the window
Feeling the stare
my eyes open
only to realize
night has bid farewell
Dreading
getting out of bed
and the biting cold
when toes touch the floor
I pull the covers over my head
Bodies warm and cozy
A duet, all snuggly
lying next to my hubby
Daybreak can wait
I’m not willing
to greet
the chilling
hour
just yet

Happy Friday the 13th (and misc)

Oh the woes of being sick

Oh the woes of a runny nose

Oh the woes of constant sneezing

Well, I guess that’s how it goes!

Hi Everyone,

My family and I have been sick this week,
so, I’ve been trying to read your wonderful posts,
along with juggling work and family life,
and trying to get healthy again.

Anyway, from LScott to You,
Happy Friday the 13th!

🙂 🙂

FOOLISH LOVE

I let you claim my dormant heart
with light concealed behind the dark
I missed deception in your eyes
transparency didn’t show your lies
A connection was felt, deep, deep inside
how could my emotions act so unwise
I lie here, cold, with rolling tears
a naked soul, wrapped in fears
Stripped of my being, I was so blind
to not have seen the flashing signs
Let it rain, let it thunder and pour
now torn in two, my mind’s at war
Burning embers dying, all because of you
precious time wasted, crying like a fool
