Welcome to BaydreamerWrites, where I share my poetry, stories, and the latest news about current and upcoming books. I’m delighted you’re here and hope you’ll enjoy exploring my writing journey.
I am a 2025 Pushcart Prize nominee who enjoys small-town living in California’s Bay Area with my husband, Matt, of thirty-seven years. Although our daughter and son live out of state, frequent visits and modern technology keep our family of four close. I am an author of four poetry collections, a memoir in verse and prose, and a children’s picture book. I have been a guest on several podcasts, and my writing has been featured by Spillwords Press and Literary Revelations. At Spillwords Press, I received Publication of the Year (Poetic, 2026), Author of the Month (May 2023), and Publication of the Month (June 2025 and October 2024). A member of the Redwood Writers chapter and Marin chapter of the California Writers Club, I received an Honorable Mention for my poem “Wings” in the 2026 Smalls Too Poetry Contest. My work also appears in six anthologies. I am currently working on a new poetry collection and an early chapter book for children.
Thank you for stopping by!

Hi Lauren: I wanted to let you know that I posted a review for your book on Amazon and it will also be my blog post tomorrow. I included a link to your blog as well as a link to purchase it at B and N and on Amazon. Beth
Thanks so much, Beth! I look forward to reading your thoughts and hope you loved the book. π
I really did, of course!
Wonderful, Beth! You made my day! Thank you! π€
it should be up on amazon now, or very soon if not now –
Okay, I’ll watch for it! π
hi Lauren – I brought my copy of your book to read to the class after they finished up with the bakery yesterday, but they were all taken home by their parents right after, expect for one child. I read it to him and he really enjoyed it and I took a picture of him with the book but don’t think this will really serve your purposes. I wasn’t expecting them to all leave right after, sorry.
Beth
P.S. If you’d like the one, I’d be happy to share it with you –
Hi Beth, I think I’ll pass on the photo. If the whole class was in it, it would be better like you said. I appreciate you trying though, along with your wonderful review and support. I’m doing a book fair this Saturday for Cora, so wish me luck. π I hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day. π
yes, sorry that didn’t work out. oh, best of luck at the book fair!
Thanks, Beth!
Hello lovely Lauren, your re-vamped website looks fab. I love the photos. Your header is beautiful, and the one on your Bio from the recent book fair is perfect. You look so happy. A lovely Bio too. You are you, and you always write from your heart, which is loving and beautiful. Go, lovely Lauren. Xxx π©·ππ¦πΈπ©·
Aww, Jane, your lovely words made for a great start to my work week after the long weekend. Thanks so much on all counts! I’m glad my effort worked because tech stuff can be challenging. π Thanks again, and sending you lots of love and hugs! xoxo ππ·πβ€οΈπ€
