Clouds roll in
Cold front imminent
Strong winds concurrent
Common sense confirms predictability
Preparation is a necessity
Still, accepting what is inevitable
doesn’t occur naturally~

nice
i hope you had a pleasant day!
Thank you, David, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Lauren, I really like this! The last two lines are so true — we never want to accept that catastrophic storm, literally or figuratively!
Thanks so much, Betty, this is how I was feeling before my Mom passed away~
A poem i really connected to after spending 10 years in Omaha Nebraska, you learn how to read the weather patterns out in the plains….nice, and very descriptive.
Thank you so much, Wendell, and I’m glad you found a connection with my words~ Blessings for a wonderful weekend!
Precise and sweet! The signs have enabled predictions to be generated, preparations ought to be made, yet accepting the inevitable does not come naturally. Beautiful piece!
Thank you so much, Teecee! 🙂
I love this Lauren, prepping! Ah! yes, the reason I tick 🙂
Thanks, John! Yes, prepping is a necessary factor, isn’t it? 🙂
Good one, Lauren!
Hope you have a great day!
Hugs, xx
Thanks, Deb, hope you have a great weekend! 🙂 Hugs to you, too!
Wonderful Lauren. I totally understand what you mean about knowing bad times are coming but still not wanting to admit that they will be here.
Thank you so much, Christy! Your insight is exactly how I felt when writing this~ xx
No, it is not indeed.. if it is nature or it is life..very fine written poem, Lauren.
Much enjoyed reading your poem,
Ciao, Francina
Thanks, Francina, your kind words are always appreciated! 🙂
How true your well-formed lines are! We humans just do not find quiet acceptance easy, do we?
Thanks, Rose, and no, it’s difficult, sometimes…before my Mom passed away, this is what I was feeling~
Great words. 🙂
Thank you, Nandini! 🙂
trying to be as best prepared as we possibly can be does help along with the peace, love, strength and understanding that fellow family members, friends and faith provide to keep us on the right path …. thanks for sharing such a wonderfully written piece ….
Jimi
Thank you, Jimi, for such a beautiful and insightful comment. I’m glad you liked this, too…
Couldn’t have said it better: ‘what is inevitable/doesn’t occur naturally’. We can’t predict the future and can rarely outguess it, just have to try to be ‘ready for anything’ as much as we’re capable of doing.
Thanks, again, Kathryn, and yes, your words echo what I am conveying! 🙂
