It feels strange that I’m not around as much, but you are missed! I just don’t have the bandwidth to blog like I used to. Maybe this schedule will be my new normal – only time will tell. Life has been challenging since July, but we remain hopeful that things will improve soon; hence, October’s Optimism. I love this new season, but ironically, we’re having a heat wave. Sigh. Anyway, as you know, several projects have kept me busy, and while waiting to hear back regarding some submissions, I’m working on a new poetry collection: An Invitation. If all goes smoothly, I’ll have a new book by the end of the year. Below, I’m sharing a micro poem from the collection.
May you be blessed with stunning sunrises!
Thanks for visiting, and I’ll visit you soon! ❤️

My Lashes
I pull hope
from my eyes,
leaning into
the positivity
of my lashes.

Lovely poem.
Thanks, Elizabeth 💞
It’s always good to see you here. I don’t think we need to post a lot on our blogs, just once in a while works for me.
Thanks, Darlene! I appreciate that! ❤️
Hi Lauren, I’m glad to see a post from you! These multiple heat tsunamis (more than waves imo) have been tough to deal with. My migraines are NOT happy! I am glad you’re still working on your poetry collections ~ I have two of your books. I didn’t realize you had one out about Copper. Take care!
Thanks, Paula! I’m sorry about your migraines. I hope they subside soon. I’m ready for cooler weather too. I know you’ve read a couple of my books and I’m grateful. The new collection is keeping me busy. As to Copper, when he passed in March of last year, I began writing through the grief, so King Copper unfolded. A poetry collection of joy, grief, and acceptance with family photos. If you’re a pet parent, I think the collection will resonate with you. Thanks for stopping by! It’s great to see you too! ❤️
Wonderful to hear from you, my Friend. Hope all is well.
Be Blessed and Be a Blessing…
Thanks so much, Willie! 🥰🍁🙏
Lovely, poem!
Thanks so much, Tina! 🩷
Such a lovely and hopeful post, Lauren! My Lashes is such a delicate, touching micro poem—pulling hope from your eyes and leaning into positivity is a beautiful message to start October with. I was so touched reading your reply to Paula Light about writing through grief for King Copper, and like Willie Torres Jr. mentioned, it’s always such a blessing to see an update from you. Wishing you relief from the heat wave and smooth writing on An Invitation!
