Timeless

timeless love photo

The years around my eyes
have a way of surprising me
because deep down inside
I feel amazingly youthful

but, when expected changes
begin to surface
no disguise is possible
for they are openly truthful

So, My Love, will you still see
the beauty from back then
and will you hold fast to
what lies within?

(Author’s note: I believe this is something
most people think of when they’re growing
older together.  But, my words don’t
reflect any insecurity in my own marriage.
All is great there! )

This is another contribution to Scott’s awesome blog and all poems shared by many different writers are written in 8 minutes or less.  There is incredible talent, so take the time to visit, if you haven’t already.  Thanks again, Scott! 🙂

Would I be too old fashioned
to ask for your hand
take a walk on the beach
dig our toes in the sand?

If I ask for a kiss
would you submit to my charms
fall into my eyes
lean into my arms?

If I ask for your love
bestow my heart fully to you
and if I give you the world
would you say I do?

Scott’s rave:  I love this sweet poem written by LScott! For me, this is what the love is all about. It’s about the special moments. Falling into my eyes or learning into my arms is just as intimate for my soul as any level of intimacy, if with the one I love so deeply. And then closing with the vow of forever. What in this world is greater in comparison to that? Thanks again Lauren, for this…

Faraway

Your gaze touches me
Can you feel my heart beating?
I feed on dreams of us
to escape the pain I’m feeling

 I envy oceans’ waves
when they caress the shore
Your loving embrace I miss
how I long for when we were

 Time is my enemy, though
for it moves slow as honey
but sweet memories of your kisses
remain my true company

One heart, one mind we’ll be
and I’ll see life in color again
for now, my head lies on your pillow
with love for you I can’t explain

Love Again (re-post)

As sure as leaves will fall
at season’s change
and rain will drop
as clouds rearrange
I have fallen
through new doors opened

the key I thought
was lost forever

you have found so cleverly
the lock had suffered
yet, not broken for eternity~

Lying on the sand
contoured to our needs
no one watches
but the moon and stars
and if they could talk
what a story to be told

We’re all alone
You and me
with souls entwined
we share ecstasy
gliding to the melody
played by the waves
their rhythm joins us
in the moves we create

Can we stay,
embraced,
skin on skin,
and begin again?

Scott’s rave: Wow, my eyes and soul just drank a cafe mocha with whipped cream! I think all my favorite poets are trying to give me an art attack of sensual flow. This one from LScott is obviously no exception and seems to bring together everything one could hope for in describing such a moment. The setting and sensual embrace of both soul and body. So beautifully composed LScott! Please visit LScott Poetry and dive even deeper…
