On The Wings Of Peace

My friend, Sue, shared this post from Teri in Ireland, and hopefully many are spreading the ripples of peace. This is my turn and may you find it in your heart to do the same. With love and blessings, Lauren ♥

Mike's card for world peace0002

During the 1980’s, Mike Bryant created a Peace card. He hoped that by sending it to friends and relatives, they would sign it and re-post, and a chain of Peace would spread around the world. I have to admit that I never got around to sending on the card. I wish I had, but as Mother Earth heaves with sadness, and her people are drowning in sorrow and grief, I offer this Peace chain, to join with other Peace chains along the way. With today’s technology words travel further and faster. Taking up the sword is not the answer. Peace is the answer.

Kindness

Holding Daisies

Does your heart try
to please every soul
turn frowns upside down
dry tears and console

Do your eyes see the good
in everything around
in every person you pass
on the streets in your town

If the answer is yes
then you’re quite the friend
you have an abundance of love
to share again and again

Yet, you’re also at risk
to having your heart broken
because not all will agree
with your words spoken

So you do your best
for the common good
and hope all your loving actions
are truly understood

Life’s Precious Gems (A Nonet)

I’ve recently learned a new form of poetry, called a Nonet,
which consists of nine lines.

The first line has nine syllables, the second line eight syllables,
the third line seven syllables, etc… until line nine finishes with one  syllable.

I’ll keep you forever and always

staying true to daily actions

and to every word I say,

for you are a golden

jewel in my life

and in my heart

I love you

dearly,

Friend

A Very Special Rose

rose

Many flowers live in gardens
Their colors add light to our days
but one bud shines brighter than others
It’s special in so many ways

 This flower radiates strength
and our world is a better place
with all the love that is offered
in it’s very warm embrace

This is dedicated to my
very special blogging friend,
Granbee,
also known as Rose.

She hasn’t blogged in a long time
and I miss her.
I know I’m not alone,
as she is missed by many.
She remains in our prayers
and we hope to be graced
by her presence again.

We love you, Rose ♥

Coffee Anyone???

Coffee Anyone???

I love the smell of coffee, the taste of coffee ice cream or frozen yogurt, but I’ve never liked coffee itself until just a few years ago…I’ve acquired a taste, but not to drink it black!  A little non-fat milk and sweet n low will do the trick or my favorite is a Vanilla Latte (non-fat).

Kim from http://silentlyheardonce.wordpress.com/2013/01/21/coffee-anyone tagged me and I’m actually very late in following through.  Please forgive me, Kim.  I’m not good at these anymore!

However, since I enjoy meeting friends for coffee these days, I couldn’t pass this up, so here we go…

1) How many cups of coffee per day?  One cup, but not necessarily everyday…

2) What is your favorite caffeine delivery system? Well, I love chocolate, dark chocolate, but any chocolate will do, in addition to my coffee favorites (and no whip on the vanilla latte)!

3) What was your best cup of coffee? Our local coffee house is really good, Pete’s Coffee, and it’s there I’ll indulge in my favorite, but Starbucks is convenient, too! There’s been too many great cups to remember just one!

4) What was your worst cup of coffee?  Any cup without a little sweetener; I love sweet things in life! ♥

5) What does your favorite mug say? I have a new white mug that my daughter decorated for me.  It says “Lauren’s mug” on one side and “Coffee or tea?” on the other, with hearts and happy faces around it.  She made a mug for herself, too, after finding the idea on Google.

6) How do you take your coffee?  I’m repeating myself now, but a little non-fat milk and sweet n low…

7) When was your first cup?  Many years ago, in my younger years!

8) Have you ever gone on a coffee tea date?  Not when I was dating (over 25 years ago), however, once or twice a month, I’ll meet some girl friends at Pete’s.  I might be crazy, but I love the ambiance in coffee houses…the aromas, old friends catching up, new friends getting to know each other, and of course, the vanilla lattes!  There’s just something about talking over a cup of coffee or tea that is appealing to me. I have to admit that I’m in Pete’s more than I should be, so I know everyone by name and they know me.  That can’t be good!  🙂

Okay, now it’s time for the invitations…well, there was just no way I could narrow them down to a select few, so if you’re interested, come along, enjoy some coffee, great friendships and send out your own invites! If coffee isn’t your “cup of tea” then that’s fine, too! Just so you know, I’m thinking of you all!

With love and hugs,

Lauren
