Tomorrow’s Promise

IMG_3421

I dream in red
feeling warmth
through the sheets
from last night’s passion
Remembering
where your hands caressed
the trail your lips created
blushing a little
from your slow moving actions
our synchronized rhythm
soul to soul with no division
but this was only one way
of loving you
one part of being with you
I want more than a memory
stretched into forever
for you and me
hoping this dream continues
even after sunrise
I know it will
from the promise
of tomorrow in your eyes

Forever Love – Acrostic

Faint is how you make me feel and not
Only when our lips connect, but when I
Remember our first embrace and how my
Emotions twirled inside of me; dizzy and
Voiceless I was and those moments still exist
Even though decades have come and gone
Reflections of those first days are magical
Learning the true meaning of bliss, an
Out of the ordinary feeling, knowing you are my
Valentine, lover and friend for the rest of our life and for
Eternity~

For those of you who have been following me
for awhile now, you know that I’m a romantic,
never hopeless, though. So because I’ve
been in a sentimental, sappy kind of mood,
I’m re-posting this from two years ago,

written for my hubby. If you’ve already seen this,
I appreciate you reading again! 🙂 ♥

A Gift to Ourselves

two-hands-holding-a-glowing-heartIf nothing makes sense
and your world seems upside down
teetering on the brink
of emotional upset
Be Kind

If angry feelings harbor
in your leaden heart
tie them to an anchor
let it drop
Be Free

If the force inside your being
is pushing you to the edge
gather strength to offer your hand
take one step back
Be There

A simple act
made effortlessly

will have a loving impact
Two souls will no longer
feel somber
Two hearts will no longer
be heavy

I’m not sure if this would be considered poetry,
but it’s something to think about
when our emotions are unbalanced.
Wishing you all a bright Monday. xo

Language

I unlocked the cabinet
so your words could fall out
It’s not that I didn’t hear them
I was afraid to see
their meaning in your eyes
Who is the wise one?
Just as a butterfly is free
it’s your turn to fly and
no matter the language
you speak

I’ll still wonder why
our paths couldn’t align
Maybe my love
was too strong
and I pushed too hard
Could it be?

It’ll take time for my
emotions to settle
like dust on the shelf
until then
my sobbing will continue
to puncture the silence

A Taste of Bittersweet

The clock turned a deaf ear
to my desperate pleading, for
its hands have moved forward
rapidly and no matter where
our time is spent, the elephant
is in the room.

You whispered reasons for
leaving, but my vision was
clouded by the love in your eyes
and the romance in your touch.
I gave them little thought.
Now they clutter my dreams
and my heart is heavy.

I cannot bear to lose a part of
me; to watch you walk into the
future without my shadow.
You are my lift to each day in
dawn’s early light and my calm
when the sun sets for a night of rest.

Will our love bear the strength
to connect our paths, never-ending?
Or will this truly mean good-bye
with our souls needing mending?

Will You…

tulips 5

If I ask you…
Will you lie with me
share a moment
without expectations
only our feelings
connected?

Will you keep me warm
be soothed by my
breathing
no distractions
only heartbeats
in perfect rhythm?

If I ask you…
Will you lie with me
and listen
clear my mind
be my pillow
my lover and friend?

If I ask,
will you?

Free-Falling

hot air balloon by steph

The edge is inches away
One more step would be easy
Is your heart ready to fall
into forever and loyalty?

A soft landing is predicted
but there is no guarantee
bumps won’t occur with the
need for Band-Aids and Chablis

Persuasion is not my style
I want you to want me
So with endless devotion
will you help nurture our journey?

I see you in my tomorrows
and everything in between
Let’s take a leap of faith
with an everlasting warranty
