Happy October & New Goals!

Happy October! I hope you are doing well! I had to step away for a couple of weeks so I could focus on my next book of poetry. I finished the structure and compiling poems, so now I’ll continue writing to add to the manuscript. So far, the total is 66, but once the editing begins, that number will change. However, it’s not about quantity. I’ll be adding and weeding out poems as the calendar pages turn. My goal is to publish next spring, and now that you know this, I am accountable. πŸ™‚

I look forward to reading your posts again, and I am leaving you with a haiku that you may have seen before. But whether you’re reading it for the first time or second or even third, I hope you enjoy!
Autumn is a favorite season, so here you go…

    1. Thanks so much, Balroop. A new goal is always exciting and you know the feeling well. And I’m just beginning to read Hues of Hope which I love already. I wish I was retired so I had more time to blog, read, write, and work on my book. πŸ™‚ 🧑

  1. Congratulations, Lauren, a new poetry book will be wonderful. I look forward to helping you promote it. I have one of your poetry books but time is running away with me and I will only get to it in Nov/Dec. October is a crazy month with Halloween, isn’t it?

    1. Thanks so much, Robbie, for your wishes and willing to help promote my book. I really appreciate it! Thanks also for buying another book of mine. Which one is it? πŸ™‚ Their purposes were definitely different. But I hope you enjoy reading whichever one you bought. Yes, times are getting even busier. I can’t believe the holidays are just around the corner. πŸ§‘πŸŽƒ

      1. Thanks, Robbie. For that book, all proceeds go to The Chris Klug Foundation to support and promote organ donation. This is because 11 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease. I wanted you to know the backstory…Anyway, I hope you enjoy the collection when you have the time. I know this is a busy time of the year. ❀️😍

    1. Thanks, Jane. I think Autumn is a favorite for many people. Well, as much as I’m ready to dive into compiling another book, it’s good to hold myself accountable so I keep the momentum going. πŸ™‚ Much love to you both, too! πŸ§‘β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ

    1. Thanks, Debby. It’s exciting to start another project, but it will be even more exciting to watch it come to fruition. πŸ™‚ I appreciate your kind words about the photo and poem, too. I love this time of year. πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ

  4. Congrats on your progress, Lauren. Getting the structure down always feels good, doesn’t it? And spring isn’t that far away! I’m looking forward to the new collection and thanks for cozy autumn haiku. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks, Diana, and yes to getting the structure down. Once that starting point is established, it’s easier to keep up the momentum. πŸ™‚ I’ve always appreciated your support, too, and I’m glad you enjoyed this haiku. πŸ₯°

  10. A poetry book? How wonderful? I haven’t worked on a book in a while. I have started a collection of collage quote flowers inspired by an Anthropologie display. It is awesome to edit. I never appreciated that tedious experience until it’s now. I mean it’s the time when you can feel pride in your work, be honest with your work and then all the other ideas emerge and then that’s when you really begin a book.

I appreciate your thoughts!
