With a shy confession, I must admit
sometimes, I dream of perfection
where the road ahead is one of silk
and balance has no objection
Where answers dangle from the trees
as butterflies gently pass by
and happiness bounces, abundantly
as high as the big blue sky
However, perfection would prevent us
from growing through the strife
and maybe being grateful
wouldn’t live in our life
So our heartbeats set the cadence
as we march with steps of brave
We find good in the clouds
as the road ahead we pave

Oh, this is gorgeous Lauren!! This poem flows beautifully and I just adore your first stanza. xoxo
Thanks so much, Angela, it was part confession and observation! 🙂 Sending hugs, my friend! xo
That’s beautiful Lauren
Thanks very much, Al!
You’re welcome 🙂
Oh this is beautiful Lauren and all so very very true. So beautifully written once again with your gentle acceptance. 😊 xx
Thanks so much, Chris, and yes, very true to heart about life and it’s surprises…♥ HBL
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks, Michelle, I pulled this archaic poem out of the woodwork and after much re-writing, I felt it was finally ready for it’s debut. I’m glad you enjoyed! 🙂
I wouldn’t mind traveling the road of perfection.
I liked the “answers dangle from the trees” line!
It would be fun, even for a day, wouldn’t it? I’m glad you liked that line, too, Binky, I’m glad I thought of it! 🙂 Thanks so much for your comment!
Perfection is what you wrote in this poem. I really like the first line.
Aww…thanks, Kim, that’s really nice of you! That first line was pretty honest, as I have had these thoughts. 🙂 Then again, if life was perfect, it probably would be very boring! 🙂
True we need a little spice in our lives.
🙂
Go for it.
Quite an illusive dream isn’t it? Thank you for sharing this gem.
It definitely is, isn’t it, Ian? 🙂 Thanks so much for your kind words and visit!
Oops! Maybe elusive? Sorry, this is not my best day. lol
Yep, elusive fits better and I knew what you meant, so no worries. I’ve had those days, believe me! 🙂 Thanks again, Ian!
Keep marching with your brave steps. Well done.
Thanks so much, Jason!
Yes, truly lovely. I especially liked the butterfly reference. I have a special place in my heart for those lovely creatures. 🙂
In answer to your question Lauren, all my books are available in Kindle and print versions.
If you click through on any of the covers at My Poetic Path, you’ll see both editions at Amazon. I sell a lot more Kindle ones though, Print books are not nearly as popular now. And my Kindle books all contain color photos that I can’t include in the print versions.
I’d still love to review your new book too, if you’d like me too. 🙂
You can email me at:
veggiecook @ myway .com
lots of hugs, G
Thanks so much, Geraldine, and I love them, too! Thanks also for getting back to me regarding your book. I know the print versions aren’t as popular now, but I’ll always love the physical book. Maybe someday I’ll buy a kindle or some kind of e-reader, but until then…:)
Honestly, I won’t turn down a review if you’ve read my book and I’ll do the same for you. I just seem to move slowly when it comes to purchasing books, but I will click on yours tomorrow! Sending hugs your way, too!
Love it! ❤
Thanks so much, Iris! xxx
Beautiful words as always~ Love the flowers. I also love the header photo too, so pretty. I had told you that I have an e-reader and do use it. You will still find me reading a ‘book’. 🙂 There is just something about holding a book~ I don’t know if I am making an sense. hugs. Renee ♥
Thanks so much, my friend, and I’m glad you liked the header, too. It was time for something new, but you’ve probably also seen this photo on fb. You are making sense and I’d like to get an e-reader, but just haven’t taken the time. I do love the feel of books, but I can see the advantages of the e-reader. Having both would be nice for options. If you have any recommendations, let me know…:) Hugs back! ♥
I have a ‘Sony E-reader’ and there are many other brands to choose from. My hubby bought it for me for Christmas last year and like I said it does get used and I still love the feel of a book in my hand from time to time. Sometimes I think they are one more techie gadget. lol ♥
As i embrace and read your words, I found myself singing their melodies! It is such a very happy song which your words bring to life within my spirit… God bless!
Aww, thanks for this lovely comment, Wendell, which I deeply appreciate. Your comments always offer so much encouragement…I hope you are doing well, my friend, and I wish you a wonderful weekend! God Bless you, too!
I liked it very much!
Thanks, Sis!

So true Lauren, its the shadows in life that the Sun brings out 🙂 xxx
