Welcome to my corner of this wonderful community where I share my poetry, short stories, and occasional photos. My husband and I have been married for almost thirty-five years, and we have two adult children. Our furry family member is Copper, an 80-lb chocolate lab mix, and he just turned 13 years old. I have published two collections of poetry: New Day, New Dreams (2013) and Finding a Balance (2015). My memoir, More than Coffee, was published in 2021, and my recent publication is a poetry collection titled Ever So Gently released in July. I have finished my first children’s book and am working with my illustrator with plans to publish in 2024. A Choice

It’s in front of you, if you look real close,
and as clear as the vase that holds the rose
You don’t want to miss this profound craze
grab your readers, don’t be in a daze
It’s like a flower, so friendly and cheerful
Go ahead, seek it out and don’t be fearful
Remember the doe and her baby you saw?
After taking this step, you’ll be in awe
When you fall in love for the very first time
nothing can compare to your feeling of sublime
That’s how you’ll feel when you take this chance
You’ll want to get up and dance
Even still, you question my words
Believe me when I say you’ll be singing with the birds
Your life will be changed and you’ll feel truly blessed
When you look real close, you’ll find Happiness

(Yes, it’s really hard sometimes,
but it’s worth trying to focus, isn’t it?)

Reality’s Edge

larger than life
hovering, invasive
casting shadows

silence,
louder than
thunder’s symphony

with eyes squeezed shut
I see only papered walls
and moving silhouettes

shaking my head
I lie in beads of sweat
gripping the edge

waiting to fall
into the depths…

(Sometimes life brings challenges and we fall into darkness.
This happened to me last fall when our family received
devastating news. After time, I was able to pull out into the light again.
I wish everyone could) ♥

The Untimely Muse

Letters float with clouds in the sky
while it’s vital that I focus and drive
Inspiration has its own timing
and it’s not always perfectly aligning
I’m not penning while watching the road
yet, containing my thoughts in some crazy code
and just when I felt they were safely concealed
they drifted away on kite’s tail over field

no broken parts
second chances would be
pearls in our palms
there’d be no storm
only divine calm
no hurting souls
feeling empty inside
In another time
love would weave
through lives
creating peace
and a will to survive
