We celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary (see my prior post) on the coast and lucked out with some sunshine, even though the wind blew and it was cold. Here are some photos we took, so much beauty to take in…
We took the back roads going in and loved the green hills. Those cows
were also too darn cute!
The view was beautiful, but the coast is rugged at this time of the year,
with winds from 40-50 mph.
This pier was more narrow than we thought at first. I was taking pictures
with my cell, and all I needed was to drop it in the ocean. 🙂 But I didn’t,
needless to say. While walking out to the end, we saw a sea lion, but he
disappeared before I could click (probably camera shy). Our Inn was just
across the bay.
I thought the Christmas tree made for an interesting photo, not to
mention the entire composition (from my amateur perception).
Watching the sunset from our room…
…and the icing on the cake was when we were told that our son and daughter
took care of all anniversary dinner charges, along with adding a bottle of
champagne. A touching surprise, to say the least…
Overall, it was a wonderful time together. Thinking back, we wore
backpacks and hiking boots the last time we went away, so this
trip was welcomed. I hope you enjoyed the sights, and Thanks again,
for all of your lovely anniversary wishes!!!

Exactly the type of getaway I love. I need to move out there so I can do it year round
As much as I’d love a little snow, Scott, the milder weather is pretty nice. I’m sure you’d love it, but there’s got to be something magical about all that snow, too, except for driving in it, I suppose. 🙂
….and happy anniversary!!!
Thanks so much, Scott!!
Happy anniversary! Beautiful sights! I’m glad I found your blog 🙂
Thanks, Ilze, for your kind comment, and for your visit. I’ll be over your way soon, too!
You are welcome! 😉
Inside and outside
Beauty is always a gift
To those who see it
Your words reminded me of an oldie:
Our vision offers
aid as we move to and fro
Do we truly see?
You’re right, beauty is in front of us if we choose to see it. Thanks, Ben. 🙂
🙂
Excellent trip, Lauren. Were you near Tomales Bay?
Thanks, John, and close…this is Bodega Bay. 🙂
Ah. We loved going there.
It’s a beautiful place, especially when the weather is nice.
Tomales Bay was the only warm water place to swim. We loved Bodaga for the boats and overall fishing village scene. We now live in a fishing village here in Texas.
You’re right. When our kids were little, we used to take them to Heart’s Desire Beach in Tomales Bay. It was a perfect for young children. This is the only beach I’ve swam in. The others around here are cold and have sharks. 🙂 I grew up going to the warm, shark-less beaches in southern California, so not chancing it up here. Plus, the waves can be wild. Bodega though is a beautiful, quaint fishing scene, and I’m glad you found a similar scene in Texas…
Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing them here. What a lovely place for an anniversary celebration, Lauren. 💕💞❤️
Thanks so much, Betty! We had been there often for day trips, but had never spent a weekend. So glad we did this time because it was beautiful and worth it. We’d like to go back maybe in the spring to celebrate our birthdays. 🙂 The weather is tricky though. It wouldn’t be fun to go when it’s foggy. So we shall see. Fall seems to be a good weather time, but that may be busy with other things. Anyway, thanks again, and have a lovely Wednesday. 💗🎈🎆🎶🥂😍
I’ve heard about the relentless fog in the area. Glad you had such good weather.
Hope you’ve had a pleasant Wednesday! (Am nursing a sore back here so getting behind reading blogs. Will try to catch up soon.) Have a good evening. 😊💞🌼💕💖
Sorry about your back, but hope it feels better soon. It’s been a rainy day here, the same for tomorrow. We need it, though, so not complaining unless it begins causing floods and mudslides. etc. Have a good and restful evening, too. Hugs xo
Thanks, Lauren. Rain here too, (every day lately). Hope you don’t end up with too much of it!
💕xo
Lovely Lauren, fantastic photos! Hoping all is well with you, our 29th is coming up too!
Thanks, Sharon, and it’s so good to see you! You’ve been away from blogville for awhile. I was away all last year until the fall when my Dad passed away. He seemed to inspire me to write again. Anyway, life is good, just rolling with the punches and celebrating the joy. Wishing you a Happy 29th, too, in advance! 💕
Happy anniversary!
Thanks so much, Steve! 🙂
Ah, such lovely and beautiful views, Lauren! So glad you enjoyed a wonderful anniversary weekend! If only that sea lion hadn’t been that camera shy! 😄
Love & hugs! xoxo 💕
Thanks, Sarah, for ALL your visits and beautiful comments. I’m also glad you enjoyed the views. And yes, I really wanted a smile from that sea lion. 🙂 Maybe next time. Love and hugs to you, too! 💝💖💗
Happy Anniversary, Lauren
Bless you both with many more years of love and togertherness 🙂
Eric
Thanks so much for your lovely wishes, Eric. 🙂
I’m sure you two had a great time. Happy Anniversary!
We sure did! Thanks again, Binky!!
Happy Anniversary! Looks like a beautiful place for a getaway. 🙂
Thanks so much, Sarah! It really was and can’t wait to return. 🙂 🌻
Congratulations on a great Milestone Lauren, beautiful to see relationships bloom and grow with commitment. Love your pictures also, the tree one is quite interesting in composition, and the others, beautiful, well captured.
Cheers.
Thanks for your wonderful comment, Ian. That tree photo is interesting, isn’t it? 🙂 Hope you’re doing well, and wishing you a great weekend ahead!
Dear Lauren,
Though somewhat belated, may I too wish you a happy anniversary.
Your photos and text do have the capacity to transport the reader to a lovely land. So thank you!
Shakti
Hi Shakti,
Your wishes and lovely comment are appreciated regardless of when you drop by. So, thank you very much. We were lucky with the weather because sometimes the coast can get foggy, so to have sunshine was welcomed. Thanks again, and have a wonderful weekend!
What a lovely place to celebrate your anniversary! I loved the photo with the Christmas tree. When our children were young they had to check out every public pier. They would have loved this one! Since I had never heard of Bodega Bay, I had to look it up. We are adding it to our bucket list. I wish you and your hubby many, many more wonderful years together and an equal amount of lovely anniversary celebrations. Hugs. ❤️❤️❤️
