Winter’s Gift

fireplace

I’m mesmerized by the colors
that dance across your face
as flames carry out a jazz recital
my heartbeat meets their pace

Your eyes penetrate
with a hunger that feeds
You touch me with your thoughts
fulfilling all my needs

Wrap your warmth around me
with soul, body, and mind
and touch my lips so gently
to taste the sweet, sweet wine

  1. wow Lauren. I love this! It really makes me think and you got me in the end with the wine. There is deep meaning in various directions of thought here! Very nicely done my friend. happy Friday!

Ahhhhhhhhhh … pure and lovely romantica, Lauren, I love this – and the fireplace photo is just perfect. ~ Love and hugs, and wishing you a weekend that’s as beautiful as you are, my friend! Julie xoxox

I wish I felt a little freer to write the “steamy” ones–I’ve only posted one at CV, early on; it didn’t seem to go over then, and I dare say my readers wouldn’t care for it now. Maybe if I announced I’d gotten married, that would work?! Maybe I need a 3rd blog…. Have a blessed weekend!

  3. Wah! Wah! Whee!
Not exactly poetic – but you know what I mean Lauren 🙂

I love especially that phrase – “a hunger that feeds” – all in all, a lovely poem that celebrates togetherness in all its essence.

    Luv and hugz,
    Eric

    1. Oh, I think your words are quite poetic in a “smiley” sorta way! 🙂 Thanks so much, Eric, you really made me chuckle and I actually had a visual of you jumping up and down, yelling, “Wah,Wah,Whee!” I’m going to remember this, you know I will! Seriously, though, I truly do appreciate your feedback, always! Luv and hugz back to you, too!
