Never-ending race
with the circulating hands
Endless quandary
Copyright 2011
I had trouble getting a good image
without the glare and I also felt
this was appropriate during this wonderful,
yet, crazy time of year…
I hope you enjoyed~

Loved it – it’s how I feel too, Lauren – that race against a crazy cuppa time!
Thanks, Betty, and tonight’s one of those nights! 🙂
For every stone stepped
Another reappears
For every peak climbed
Another dots the horizon
For every goal met
Another is set before us
Yes, never-ending, indeed! Thanks for sharing~
This thing with hands
Devoid of heart
Is tearing life and love away
This faceless face
And endless race
Has stolen, now, this very day
This thing with hands
Has slowly turned
Beginnings into memories
This faceless face
That tells my fate
Is trying to get rid of me
🙂
Thank you Lauren for another thoughtful insight on life and the season. Thank you for the picture as well
You’re welcome and thanks for sharing, too, VW! 🙂
Lovely and fitting. What would our economies do without Christmas! Thank you.
Thanks so much, David! That’s the bright side to all the craziness! 🙂
Thanks for a delightful haiku – I love how it forces us to write so much in so few words and make it work – love the image too!
Thank you so much! I only starting writing Haiku in October and find them fun and challenging…I’m glad you liked the image, too, because I had a tough time with the photography! My son usually helps me out with the images; this time, I was on my own! 🙂
So simple, I think this is one of my favourites of yours!
Thanks so much, Eve, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m sure we all can relate to this one, at some time or another! 🙂
Lauren, the distorted clockview is EXACTLY how I have been mentally fighting this season’s time limits! Remember the famous painting we always called “Wet Watches”? This was a perfect post to help us get perspective on our self-imposed schedules this holiday season. Thank you!
Thanks, Rose, I’m glad this “not so good” image worked for you in the craziness of the season and thanks for your kind words about the haiku…I don’t recall that painting, though, but now I’d like to find out more about it…
Wow, Lauren! You are featured twice at http://en.wordpress.com/tag/poetry/
That’s great
Great time poem!
Wow, thank you so much for informing me (again)! What would I do without you? I’m amazed at how unknowledgeable I am with the mechanics of WP. Honestly, what qualifies one to be featured? Anyway, thanks again, here goes another screen shot! 🙂 And thanks for your kind words regarding the haiku! I always appreciate your feedback! This one seemed to fit with the season! 🙂
Wow..!!! I am just thinking, how one can always express so many things in single sentence!! Loved it!!! Another superb post Scott.!!
Thank you so much, Rajkishore! It’s a challenge to convey a message in few words and syllables, but I’m having fun with them and I’m grateful you enjoy them, too! Lauren 🙂
It’s Christmas time again.
Dashing through the mall for presents.
Find comfort later.
Exactly! 🙂
