Vinyl

dads-record-player

Do you remember record players? This was my Dad’s, but it has lived with us for a few years now. It’s good that we kept our old albums because once in awhile, we’ll dust one off and reminisce into the past. Those moments are surreal, evoking great memories and creating new ones. We have a wide variety ofΒ nostalgia sitting in our closet on the top shelf…from The Beatles, Elvis, Asleep at the Wheel, The Rolling Stones, Barbara Streisand, Santana, Eric Clapton, LedΒ Zeppelin, Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams, Jr., Beach Boys, The Eagles, Elton John, Johnny Cash, and the list continues…

Ode to Music

Listen to the music
let it touch your soul
let it bring you joy
let it make you whole

Listen to the music
let it stir emotions
let it make you sigh
let it cleanse like oceans

Let the music be in you
in your heart, in your mind
Any genre that moves you
in life is well-timed

LS 2016

Does anyone else own an LP? I think we’ll keep ours for awhile. πŸ™‚

    1. We have John Denver and Willie Nelson, too, and of course, lots of Christmas albums; I knew I’d forget some. Anyway, it’s great to know we’re not the only vinyl enthusiasts! Thanks for your comment, Andrew, and have a good weekend!

    1. I think many of us believe the same thing, Jeffrey. The progression of technology is great, but there is some “old” that keeps coming back and is simply the best. There are also many record stores around now, especially in quaint little towns, so I hope you get the chance to start a collection. πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by, too!

  1. A wonderful poem to invoke thoughts of the past – and let’s dance to your records! My dad has a big vinyl collection so between the two of you I think we’ll have a great party πŸ™‚

      1. Thanks so much, and I missed you, too. I honestly didn’t think I had anymore posts in me. πŸ™‚ They’re not coming as often, but I’m trying, along with balancing a heavier h/w load. πŸ™‚ β™₯

    I have never own an LP but I’m planning on starting a collection as soon as I figure out how to use a turn table! I have no idea what to get and how to operate it, I feel stupid. Aaaah, maybe one day.

    1. That’s awesome, Karla! They’re easy to use and listening to albums is so classic nowadays. I hope you’re able to start your collection soon; I know you’ll love it. Thanks so much for your comment and visit. Have a wonderful Monday! Lauren β™₯

I appreciate your thoughts!
