Do you remember record players? This was my Dad’s, but it has lived with us for a few years now. It’s good that we kept our old albums because once in awhile, we’ll dust one off and reminisce into the past. Those moments are surreal, evoking great memories and creating new ones. We have a wide variety ofΒ nostalgia sitting in our closet on the top shelf…from The Beatles, Elvis, Asleep at the Wheel, The Rolling Stones, Barbara Streisand, Santana, Eric Clapton, LedΒ Zeppelin, Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams, Jr., Beach Boys, The Eagles, Elton John, Johnny Cash, and the list continues…
Ode to Music
Listen to the music
let it touch your soul
let it bring you joy
let it make you whole
Listen to the music
let it stir emotions
let it make you sigh
let it cleanse like oceans
Let the music be in you
in your heart, in your mind
Any genre that moves you
in life is well-timed
LS 2016
Does anyone else own an LP? I think we’ll keep ours for awhile. π

My wife and I have a modest collection of vinyl. A lot of John Denver, Christmas music, Beetles, Willy Nelson, etc. I love it!
We have John Denver and Willie Nelson, too, and of course, lots of Christmas albums; I knew I’d forget some. Anyway, it’s great to know we’re not the only vinyl enthusiasts! Thanks for your comment, Andrew, and have a good weekend!
Believe me, the best music is analog and less digital is more warm…so I love it a lot… π π π
I agree, and there’s such a classic feeling while listening to them, too. I appreciate your time to comment, Paul! Thank you! π
I don’t own one, but maintain music still sounds best on vinyl.
I think many of us believe the same thing, Jeffrey. The progression of technology is great, but there is some “old” that keeps coming back and is simply the best. There are also many record stores around now, especially in quaint little towns, so I hope you get the chance to start a collection. π Thanks for stopping by, too!

Wonderful.. I kept my vinyl records and was lucky enough to have for last Christmas a small turn table.. Its lovely to play these old records, so I know of your Joy.. xxx
I’m happy to hear that you keep them, too, Sue, and that we share the same joy! Some things just can’t be replaced. π Have a lovely weekend! β₯ β«
You too Lauren xx
They are a collectors item now. People pay big money for those old albums.
I know! Isn’t it funny how these things happen! π Are you a collector, Ian?
I’m a natural hoarder but I think I’m getting it under control now. lol
Haha, good to know! π
A wonderful poem to invoke thoughts of the past – and let’s dance to your records! My dad has a big vinyl collection so between the two of you I think we’ll have a great party π
Thanks, Christy, and it’s great to hear about your dad’s collection, too. I think it’s time to party! π β« β₯
Records are coming back now for serious audiophiles who prefer the warmer sounds from them. Tube amplifiers as well.
And it’s good that are, right, Binky? π β«
Hard to carry records around with you, though!
Ah, good point! Well, home is where they’re enjoyed then. π
Enjoyed your poem.
We no longer own any, but they are still in the family. We passed them on to our son.
Thanks, Michelle, and at least they’re still in the family. It’s great that your son enjoys them now. π Hugs!
I’m so glad you’re back. I missed you. Hugs back to you.
Thanks so much, and I missed you, too. I honestly didn’t think I had anymore posts in me. π They’re not coming as often, but I’m trying, along with balancing a heavier h/w load. π β₯
I have some vinyl from teenage years but no player right now. I grew up with some old “78s” vinyl from the 40s I think, some of that still lives in my head
Awesome post… π My dad does and he would never let them go. I don’t blame him, those are the best. Lots of great memories.
Thanks, Shian, and it’s good to know that your dad has his collection too. There are many ways to hold onto memories and this is one way. π
I have never own an LP but I’m planning on starting a collection as soon as I figure out how to use a turn table! I have no idea what to get and how to operate it, I feel stupid. Aaaah, maybe one day.
That’s awesome, Karla! They’re easy to use and listening to albums is so classic nowadays. I hope you’re able to start your collection soon; I know you’ll love it. Thanks so much for your comment and visit. Have a wonderful Monday! Lauren β₯
