Fever vs. Muse (Sequel to “Fever”)

Sometimes inspiration pours

like water from a hose

full force, abundant supply

Then there are times

when the paper is stark white

and the inkwell is bone dry

I’ve been panicky and wondering

how long this drought will last

and when it departs

will it stay in the past?

Of course, there’s no way to tell

or would I hear chiming bells?

Well, one thing is for sure

Hot flashes cook brain cells!

This was inspired
by my wonderful blogging sis, Deb,

as she fed me the closing line. (Thanks, Deb)
Ladies, I hope you enjoy

YOUR words always bring a smile to my face. Love the new header picture. Keep up the good work. Have a wonderful day Lauren. 🙂 Renee

    1. Thanks, Renee, always happy to bring a smile and the header is from our county fair last year. I thought it would be nice for summer so thank you! I hope you’re having a great day, too! 🙂

YOU are most welcome. What a lovely header picture. Nice! WE had so much sunshine on our first day of summer. Long over do as we have had too much rain out this way.

      1. Ha! I love it, Lauren! It’s great when we can inspire one another. 🙂
I really loved the poem. Nothing wrong with your muse abilities right now. Brain cells…still got enough.

    1. Oh, Linda, I’m happy to hear I made you laugh again! And thanks for your kind, kind words; they’re very encouraging when I feel in a dry (serious) spell…and I will try to “chill!” Love your choice of words! Today is the first day of summer and it feels like it, but I’m a survivor! Hee,hee! Love and hugs to you!

    1. Thanks, Sam, and I find it hard to believe it took you that long, because I am in awe of your writing, my friend~I appreciate your kind words, too! This one’s good for another chuckle! 🙂 xx

      1. Sometimes it only takes me a few minutes, sometimes an hour, sometimes days….it depends on how long it’s been brewing, how deep I have to dig, and how clear my head is. So many changes yesterday with the end of school year for boys, etc. I was having a hard time at it. HUGS 🙂

      2. I understand end of school year, crazy times, for sure…we’re past that and now they’ve got summer jobs and volunteer commitments..just breathe and HUGS back to you! Have a peaceful day~xx

  2. Does this mean you are hot to trot? LOL Oh I feel your pain! Been there, done that. I’m not having hot flashes anymore but the well is still pretty dry around here…

But your words seem to be flowing…think of ice water! 🙂

    1. Hee,hee, Jeannie! I’ve been fine with the fun stuff; it’s the serious where the well has been dry. I’m working on a few, though, so we shall see! Hope you’re doing well and yes, ice water sounds wonderful! 🙂

Let it go… then it shall flow, my friend. My poetry comes in great floods and then stops, and I know this is because something else in my soul is needing my attention. It always comes back… and your flow will return greatly refreshed. I think of it as my poetry taking a break to re-group, re-fresh and take stock of the things I have learned so that it can re-emerge expressing that growth and change.

This poem’s great, by the way! Very cool 😀 xox

I appreciate your thoughts!
