Do I need fifty dollar words, candlelight and wine to express what’s on my mind? I’m not one to write heartfelt emotions in rhythm or rhyme, no poet am I, and fancy words can’t match the hue in your eyes, so I’ll be wise, take my cue and simply whisper “I Love You”
An oldie from my poetry collection, Finding a Balance, Something soft for this Sunday. ❤️🥂
I thought some ‘silly and fun’ would be in order after my last post. So, I pulled this oldie from my book, New Day, New Dreams. Wow, 2013 seems like 100 years ago!
Anyway, enjoy some Scrabble Soup!
First you need a thought, nothing fancy and it can’t be bought, then add a spoonful of emotion. There’s no magical potion, although, I have a notion you could include humor. According to rumor, laughter’s the best medicine. It always has been. Yet, contrary to giggles, start some tears flowing with a dash of melancholy, or if you’d rather be jolly, Don’t be coy, Sprinkle in joy. Now to spice up your mixture (I think you get the picture) toss in melody with your favored tempo and let your feet dance. Feel the rhythm and give romance a chance. This is where you improvise (write between the lines). Follow your feelings. Close your eyes, peel off your disguise. This is your recipe. This is your vision. Follow your bliss and for a final touch, Seal it with a kiss!
Swinging from the chandelier I’m overwhelmed from toes to ear I know it’s time to walk the frog Can’t just sit, type, and blog I’d love to dye my hair bright red Could you spare a needle and thread? Reaching for the coffee cup Time to fill and pet the pup In the wind, I feel so free Would you like a cup of tea? I’d love to swim and read a book It’s five o’clock, what shall I cook? Staring at the vacuum cleaner I wonder why the fish are meaner Planets aren’t aligned, at all Let’s go shopping at the mall I could talk and talk for miles but only if you share more smiles

I thought some Friday silly would be in order to bring some laughter and smiles into your day.
Visualize it: Close your eyes. Get in the zone, and focus solely on your wish – Nothing else! Another idea is to make a Vision Board. Have you heard of these? Cut out photos from magazines that represent your wish. Or, if you’re super creative and skilled, you could draw, draw, draw!
Believe it:Don’t let the face of doubt stare you down into a puddle of self-pity.
Don’t let the hand of negativity hold you down in the sinkhole of “I can’ts.”
Do it: Take action! If you think by sitting on your sofa – remote in one hand, popcorn in the other – is going to make your wish a reality…think again!
“Do the thing and you will have the power.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
(It’s as simple as that.)
New Day, New Dreams
Today’s a new day for that baby step Don’t even look back just take a deep breath
Don’t listen to words that may keep you still Optimism is your friend along with your will
Keep your dreams in view not allowing them to stray With fear on the sidelines You Can Be Brave
Instead of your heart wear strength on your sleeve Stay focused with soul and in Yourself, Believe!
So, did you make a wish?
If so, what are you going to do about it?
It’s hard to believe we’ve turned another calendar page, which means Christmas is only 3 1/2 weeks away!
I want to thank those of you who have already purchased a copy of my book. You are my amazing cheerleaders and I will always be humbled and grateful! Please know I appreciate YOU! ♥
“New Day, New Dreams” would fit nicely on a coffee table, maybe accompanied by a compelling mystery or romance, flowers and candles. It would also make a great gift for someone special.

After years of talk and a few months of action, the final product is here. I have all of my family to thank for their ongoing support and encouragement and, of course, all of you, for your “likes” and “comments” that gave me the courage to take this step. Without you, this wouldn’t be a reality!
