Sun spills in
through billowing curtains
gently though
so not to startle dreams
Sated bodies delight
in love tangling
Sheets silky soft
caress skin
nothing can compare
to this moment
that shouldn’t end
but we bid farewell
to moonlight
knowing we have sunlight
to share

Sensuous, Lauren. It got a smile out of Peggy and I was laughing at Cindy’s response.
I’m glad you and Peggy enjoyed this poem, Curt. I laughed at Cindy’s reply too, and I’m happy to make Peggy smile! This is from an older book when I wrote a lot of love poems, etc. 🙂
Love poems are good. Grin. On another note, another friend wanted the link to the poem your dog wrote. Her dog writes poetry as well. 🙂
How funny! But wonderful that her dog writes poetry too. We have some skilled dogs, don’t we? 🙂 Here is the link, Curt, if you didn’t already get it:https://baydreamerwrites.com/2023/04/05/a-labrador-writes-a-poem/
Take care!
Thanks, Lauren. I sent it off to her immediately.

Your love poems are always so beautiful, Lauren. The shift from moonlight to sunlight just continues the romance and that’s so refreshing. ❤ ❤

Hi Lauren, this is a beautiful poem. I am never able to write this sort of romantic poetry and I admire people who can.
Thanks so much, Robbie. Years ago, love poems were my constant for writing. I still write them, but I’ve leaned more towards nature and life events nowadays, even though I’m still very much in love with my hubby. 🙂 I’m glad you liked this one though. Sometimes, I return to my older books, and that’s where I found this poem, in New Day, New Dreams. Thanks again for sharing on FB too. 💞
A beautiful, loving poem, Lauren. Your words capture the moment. xXx 💓💓💓
Thanks so much, Jane! This is an old poem, and it’s fun to return to those sometimes. Sending lots of hugs, dear friend. ❤️❤️❤️

I felt like I was lying in bed, stretching, as a smile and sigh came from me to welcome the morning. Beautiful poem, Lauren!
