Visualize it: Close your eyes. Get in the zone, and focus solely on your wish – Nothing else! Another idea is to make a Vision Board. Have you heard of these? Cut out photos from magazines that represent your wish. Or, if you’re super creative and skilled, you could draw, draw, draw!
Believe it: Don’t let the face of doubt stare you down into a puddle of self-pity.
Don’t let the hand of negativity hold you down in the sinkhole of “I can’ts.”
Do it: Take action! If you think by sitting on your sofa – remote in one hand, popcorn in the other – is going to make your wish a reality…think again!
“Do the thing and you will have the power.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
(It’s as simple as that.)
New Day, New Dreams
Today’s a new day
for that baby step
Don’t even look back
just take a deep breath
Don’t listen to words
that may keep you still
Optimism is your friend
along with your will
Keep your dreams in view
not allowing them to stray
With fear on the sidelines
You Can Be Brave
Instead of your heart
wear strength on your sleeve
Stay focused with soul
and in Yourself, Believe!
So, did you make a wish?
If so, what are you going to do about it?

Poem from my book,
New Day, New Dreams
Yup. Made a wish. Now I need to make it happen. Super post, Lauren.
Awesome, John, glad you did, and thank you for your kind comment! I hope your wish comes true, and have a good weekend! 🙂
Thanks, Lauren.
Some good inspirational words, Lauren.
Thanks, Binky. We can never have too many, right? 🙂
That’s a wonderful poem, Lauren. Whether we feel fear or not is a matter of the thoughts we choose. Fear has no power if we don’t give it power.
Thanks so much, Erika. I appreciate you stopping by, too!
You are very welcome, Lauren😊
I made a wish that my wish would come true, but maybe wishing on a star is for wishful dreamers, one can only hope in dreams.
Cheers Lauren.
Aww, Ian, I think it’s better to be a wishful dreamer with a hopeful heart. What do you think? 🙂 I hope your wish comes true, and thanks for adding to the magic. 🙂
Inspirational post and poem – thank you, Lauren! (And yes, I made a wish. 😁 )
🌼💞🌸💕
Thanks, Betty! I think in this world today, we can’t have too much inspiration. 🙂 I’m glad you made a wish and hope it comes true. Hugs 🎆❤🌹
If it comes true the whole world will know. 🤗🌼💕🌸☮️💞
SATISFACTORY
Wishing and dreaming
Brought me to the place I am
No longer need them
That’s awesome, Ben. I could say the same personally, but in other aspects of life, I have some wishes. Maybe goals is another name for them – keeping my mind working on new things, stepping out of that comfort zone, and so on. I’ll also add that wishes for our country and world continue, too. 🙂 ❤
Nothing I wrote here is in contradiction to anything you say, Lauren, and I think I understand quite well where you are coming from. Oddly enough it all ties up with a couple of poems I’ve written over the last couple of days.
Oh, I know, Ben, and I didn’t mean to imply that if it came across that way. I just wanted to throw a few more spices into the kettle. 🙂 And I do recall some of your recent poems and their similarity to my message also. I always love reading your feedback, although sometimes, it makes me “think harder.” 😀
I am glad you enjoy reading my comments. I think comments should have some useful content, whether of a thoughtful or an amusing nature. When I can combine the two I feel especially satisfied. I also abhor arguments and avoid them whenever possible. (Which I find is almost always. 🙂 ) From having read a lot of your comments in the past few years, on my site as well as on those of others I think you too like your comments to be meaningful and always positive.
I feel the same way, although, sometimes I leave quick comments, but they’re always sincere. Thoughtful and amusing are perfect, and I’ve only had to block one reader for a rude comment (years ago). Not bad for a seven-year run. 🙂
Yes, WP is invariably polite and sometimes quite witty, especially if you follow the right sites. 🙂
So beautiful and inspirational, Lauren! Yes, let’s dream and also work to make our dreams come true! 😄😚💖
Thanks, Sarah! I think we can’t have enough inspiration, encouragement, or motivation nowadays. We all get in slumps, and sometimes, it’s nice to have someone lift us up with not only words, but also visuals. 🙂 Big hugs and lots of love! 💗💗💗
“Strength on your sleeve,” I like that!
Thanks, Ian! It certainly couldn’t hurt. 😊
What a wonderful post, Lauren. I am going to print this out and hang it above my desk at eye level, so I see it every time I sit at my desk.
With your permission, of course.
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks, Michelle, and of course, you can do that. I’m flattered and honored. Hugs ❤️🤗
Thank you! Love and hugs.
