Do you remember record players? This was my Dad’s, but it has lived with us for a few years now. It’s good that we kept our old albums because once in awhile, we’ll dust one off and reminisce into the past. Those moments are surreal, evoking great memories and creating new ones. We have a wide variety of nostalgia sitting in our closet on the top shelf…from The Beatles, Elvis, Asleep at the Wheel, The Rolling Stones, Barbara Streisand, Santana, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams, Jr., Beach Boys, The Eagles, Elton John, Johnny Cash, and the list continues…

Mirage
His mind floated through life
where it couldn’t be stopped,
even his logic kept flight
Her face controlled his dreams
as he struggled between the
crevices of reality
below the moon’s supervision
He desired to write poetry,
wordless poetry on her silky skin,
how the touch and taste of her
would be rich to his spirit
But knowing she was far out of reach,
her whispered kisses
wove softly through his fingers

A Summer Hello
Dear Friends,
I’ve been thinking about you, so I thought I’d send a little note to see how you’re all doing. Maybe I’ve been forgotten, but hopefully not. 🙂
So here’s a little academic update…I was going to take a summer class, but then life intercepted and I chose not to. I’ve already registered for fall though, so I’ll get back into the routine later this month, and I’m taking the last English class needed.
So what’s new with you? How has your summer been? My husband and I spent a week in Lake Tahoe and had a great, relaxing time. Below are a few photos, and I hope life is treating you all well! Sending my love, Lauren ♥
Here’s the Scoop…
Dear Friends,
As most of you know, I took a three month break from blogging, and I have recently returned. I missed it, and I missed seeing all of you who have faithfully followed and supported me. I’ve taken many breaks throughout the past five years, so please know that I’m not crazy…But I have to be honest with myself in realizing that blogging just isn’t in me anymore. I’ve started slowly with college (which I snubbed soon after high school), but I’ll begin to take more classes each semester to finish earlier-or at least before I’m too old to walk across the stage-and if I do this, blogging won’t have a time slot. Honestly, writing poems is still on the back burner, but my next English class will involve creative writing and poetry, which might help stir up some inspiration.
So…I’m going to keep my blog open (for now), but I won’t be continuing to interact in the blog world. For five years, this blog has been a big part of my life, but I feel that part has run its course, and now a new chapter is evolving. I guess I won’t say that I’ll “never” return, but for now, it looks unlikely. I’m excited about my college journey, even in mid life, and I have officially decided to pursue an Associates Degree in English, and who knows, I may even go for a Bachelor’s! You’re never too old, right?
Anyway, that’s it, my honest feelings. I tried and gave it another shot, thinking that I would jump right back in like before, but things are different now. I’ve changed and so has life. I sincerely wish you all the best, and I’ll miss you.

Strolling through
the hallway,
following the aroma,
eager for the taste
and dreading updates,
I’m on a cloud,
hoping for a
dreamworld…
silly girl, because
the broadcaster speaks
about death (again),
and now
with a tainted mindset,
my heart aches
just like days past
and I wonder
when this madness
will ever end
