the hallway,

about death (again),

I stopped watching/listening to “the news” a long time ago.
At home, I don’t watch the news as often as I used to, but I still do off and on. The woman I work with listens to NPR every day, so it’s there that I hear it constantly. It’s good to be informed, but much of what is reported these days is depressing, and a solution seems unreachable; yet we can only continue to pray for a miracle. This poem was inspired by Brussels, so I’m late in posting it…

Beautifully stated, Lauren. I too, have a love/hate affair with the news. There is so much bad going on in the world that I don’t want to hear a constant barrage, but Iat the same time, I feel a need to know what’s going on in the world, good or bad.
