Strolling through
the hallway,
following the aroma,
eager for the taste
and dreading updates,
I’m on a cloud,
hoping for a
silly girl, because
the broadcaster speaks
about death (again),
and now
with a tainted mindset,
my heart aches
just like days past
and I wonder
when this madness
will ever end

    1. At home, I don’t watch the news as often as I used to, but I still do off and on. The woman I work with listens to NPR every day, so it’s there that I hear it constantly. It’s good to be informed, but much of what is reported these days is depressing, and a solution seems unreachable; yet we can only continue to pray for a miracle. This poem was inspired by Brussels, so I’m late in posting it…

  1. Beautifully stated, Lauren. I too, have a love/hate affair with the news. There is so much bad going on in the world that I don’t want to hear a constant barrage, but Iat the same time, I feel a need to know what’s going on in the world, good or bad.

    1. Well said, Sue, and a perfect balance! Thanks for stopping by; I don’t think I’ll delete my blog, but still unsure about returning…all is fine here and how are you? Returning hugs your way, too! ā™„ xo
