Only Words

You say “I love you,” a recipe of letters
that could stir up a magical moment,
but they’re only empty air bubbles,
meaning nothing without the alliance of
actions and yours are lacking. My heart
will
bend, but it won’t breakI’ll always
remember
those sweet moments of tender
kisses and
hand holdingunforgettable
nights and
mornings of loving each other,
but the
fun has vanished like water droplets
on a
summer-kissed sidewalk. I’ll be fine in my
own company, yet, if by chance somewhere
beyond this storm, another love finds his way
into my arms, they’ll be open to letting his
charms lead me home. You had your ending;
now I embrace my beginning. Who can say when,
but I’d be willing to fall in love all over again.

What if?

faith_300x200

What if I just let go
and tried not to care
What would happen
or could I even dare

Would the world’s weight
be lifted from my shoulders
Then to the Heavenly Father
I would feel closer

Would peace finally find its way
into my anxious mind
Am I strong enough to believe
everything would align

How can I relinquish
the control I desire
Be truly faithful to
see what would transpire

I’ll let go and let God
allowing Faith to lead instead
Knowing He’ll take care of me
all doubts and fears will shed

A Gift to Ourselves

two-hands-holding-a-glowing-heartIf nothing makes sense
and your world seems upside down
teetering on the brink
of emotional upset
Be Kind

If angry feelings harbor
in your leaden heart
tie them to an anchor
let it drop
Be Free

If the force inside your being
is pushing you to the edge
gather strength to offer your hand
take one step back
Be There

A simple act
made effortlessly

will have a loving impact
Two souls will no longer
feel somber
Two hearts will no longer
be heavy

I’m not sure if this would be considered poetry,
but it’s something to think about
when our emotions are unbalanced.
Wishing you all a bright Monday. xo

On the Edge of Consciousness

Floating-Beauty-cloud-backgrounds

We’ll hold each other close
with our hearts beating in sync
Their rhythm will do the rocking
while we drift into sleep

Cloud floating is what we need
to relax our bodies and mind
Creating dreams of only hope,
to the dark not being resigned

When the light awakens us
let our story’s ending be different
but if reality hasn’t changed,
guide us forward without ignorance

Healing Hope

Butterfly by Steph Final edit

Maybe one day we’ll understand why
then again, life isn’t black and white
It’s not kind and it’s not fair
sometimes, very hard to bear
Walls will crumble now and then
but the sun will shine once again
We need to trust in Him for strength
keeping fear at arm’s length
He’ll guide us through the blues
on this journey we didn’t choose
In our hearts, hope will stay alive
and in prayer we will thrive

The Answer

You’ve been missing
for some time now
I wonder if you’ll ever
show your lovely face.

I’ve looked for you
in nooks
and crannies,
in cupboards
occupied by
glassware and
plates.

I’ve lifted the rugs
lying in my hallway

and peeked in the linen
closet, just to be sure.

Perhaps you’re hiding
in the bathtub, a sneaky
spot to stay and a Psycho
scene reversed.

One last place I thought
to check, glancing under
the bed…the only thing that
stared me back were the dust
bunnies playing dead.

Now I fear my time has
been nothing but a waste,
for whether you arrive or not
I’ll greet each new day with Faith.
