On the Edge of Consciousness

We’ll hold each other close
with our hearts beating in sync
Their rhythm will do the rocking
while we drift into sleep

Cloud floating is what we need
to relax our bodies and mind
Creating dreams of only hope,
to the dark not being resigned

When the light awakens us
let our story’s ending be different
but if reality hasn’t changed,
guide us forward without ignorance

  1. Lauren, these words are beautiful..Let us be awakened my dear friend as we each step within the clouds of our Dreams to behold our new reality.. xoxox Hugs Sue xoxo Enjoy your weekend

    1. Thanks, Angela, this poem is inspired by real life and that last stanza is true, as well. If “things” are tough, we can’t be ignorant, but rather advocates for good changes in the future…:) Your words always warm my heart and I wish you a lovely weekend, too! 🙂 Hugs and blessings! xo

  2. remember that silly nonsense, what? just yesterday, about your words compared to someone else’s? 🙂 Glad to see that Friday has brought out such beautiful words and images. I am stuck on cloud floating … it sounds so wonderful! …

  3. Yes, sometimes we go to sleep with burdens aplenty – and awake so light and easy. Who did we meet, who did we commune with – who took another straw off our back?

As I read your offering, Lauren, these thoughts came to mind.
