The beach calls, and so does coffee!

Yesterday was going to be a hot one, so hubby suggested we drive into Sausalito and visit this cute little beach. The weather was cooler by the bay, and the sky was the bluest it’s ever been. We walked around, enjoying the sights, and of course, our coffee. Then some thoughts came to mind and landed in the form of Shadorma poems…

Escaping
hot temperatures
we find a
quiet beach
sights offer tranquility
breathing in salt air

Boats on the
bay, stoic in their beauty
a lifestyle
inviting
surrounded by calm water
waiting to take sail

Sitting on
the sand, toes buried
we people
watch, little
boy giggles from water joy
paddle boarders learn

Owning this
moment of stillness
together
he and I
new memory to create
over and over

Cheers! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed. Have a lovely week ahead! 💦💙🩵☕️

Tiny Treasures by the Sea

precious works of art
remain forever priceless

as time ticks away

rocks and shiny shells
of all shapes and colors bring
joy to childlike hearts

sandy shore offers
troves of tiny treasures for
imaginations

smooth-as-silk green glass
in clay molded with fancy
edges shows vision

paintbrush through fingers
brows furrowed, concentrating
cherished masterpiece

tiny hands create
a piece of art, melting the
heart decades later

Our son made this
when he was little,
forever priceless.

The Mystery, Message, and Meditation

listen carefully
breathe in, breathe out, letting go
your soul will thank you

secrets ride the waves
ebbing, flowing in deep blue
we are not privy

waves carry a vast
mystery with each whisper
we may not discern

Little Beach Boy (A Shadorma)

I watch him
Sitting in the sand
His quest for
Adventure
Shines through the look on his face
Deep concentration

A slight breeze
Blows his light brown hair
As he digs
For treasures
My heart warms from his delight
A precious moment

(I learned about this poetry form at Ben’s site,
https://bennaga.wordpress.com/ and he encouraged
me to try a Shadorma, as well. I couldn’t think
of a new topic, so I revised an old poem from
when my son was little. ❤ I hope you enjoy, and
thanks for the nudge, Ben. It’s always good to
learn something new.)

With toes in the sand, head in the clouds
thoughts float by as I stand around
Waves come close to shake my hand
their gentle touch helps me understand

Copper’s Beach Adventure

copper 3Copper and stick both “in flight”

copper 2Looking for that stick and enjoying the water, too!

copper 1Gotta love those EARS!

Copper had a fun time at the beach yesterday.
He loved chasing the stick,

then trying to find it in the water.
He was also happy running
up and down the beach
with some other canine friends.
It’s definitely a blast  watching him play!
(my third child) 🙂

I hope we all take time to “play
in the midst of our busy lives.
Soak in some sun and sand
or breathe in mountain air,
Just don’t forget to Breathe and Enjoy Life!

Sending hugs for a great day! ♥
