Tiny Treasures by the Sea

precious works of art
remain forever priceless

as time ticks away

rocks and shiny shells
of all shapes and colors bring
joy to childlike hearts

sandy shore offers
troves of tiny treasures for
imaginations

smooth-as-silk green glass
in clay molded with fancy
edges shows vision

paintbrush through fingers
brows furrowed, concentrating
cherished masterpiece

tiny hands create
a piece of art, melting the
heart decades later

Lauren Scott (c)
Our son made this
when he was little,
forever priceless.

    1. Aww, thanks, Marina. This piece of art from our son a long, long time ago sits on one of our patio tables and I became inspired. I think inspiration came also because he’s visiting us this week. πŸ™‚ πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

    1. Thanks, John. Our son who is 27 now is visiting us this week. And this little piece of precious art sits on one of our patio tables, so over a glass of wine, I became inspired. πŸ™‚

  1. Isn’t it wonderful, to hold and feel and look at our child’s precious “art,” decades old, which still holds their childhood energy? Wonderful evocative poem, Lauren.

I appreciate your thoughts!
