Lying on the sand
contoured to our needs
no one watches
but the moon and stars
and if they could talk
what a story to be told

We’re all alone
You and me
with souls entwined
we share ecstasy
gliding to the melody
played by the waves
their rhythm joins us
in the moves we create

Can we stay,
embraced,
skin on skin,
and begin again?

Waves touch ever so gently
A subtle gesture
not to intimidate
but to lovingly bait
The shore lies still
only to anticipate
the cool stroke

Wind blows a bit stronger
waves take a little longer
the craving builds up
before rushing in
to kiss the shore
and lap up sweetness
from where
it pours

Scott’s rave: I read this tantalizing poem several times! Oceans, waves, and shores are all keywords to awaken my romantic imagination and this one from LScott is a perfect example! I love spring,
how she yawns and stretches,
quiet confidence;
instinct melded with a trust
that says it’s okay to go.
She was almost fooled
a couple of times this year,
but not enough to daunt
or throw off course.

And now look at those shoots;
delicate still, a little pale, but
granite firm and ready.
They have work to do,
an audience to captivate,
starring roles to support.
And as always, will succeed;
why would this year be any different?

I must be dreaming
as you captivate
all my senses
so relentlessly
the way you linger
over curves
taking me
over the edge
I give my love
as you deserve
There’s no denying
you’re more than real
the way you make me feel
forget the world
we’re in our own
with no escaping
until dawn
