8 Minutes or Less

I must be dreaming
as you captivate
all my senses
so relentlessly
the way you linger
over curves
taking me
over the edge
I give my love
as you deserve
There’s no denying
you’re more than real
the way you make me feel
forget the world
we’re in our own
with no escaping
until dawn

7 minutes

Scott’s rave: One of LScott’s beautiful poems she wrote in only 7 minutes and made my day by allowing it posted here! Oh, the passionate moments that feel like a dream with the one we love and our senses are “relentlessly” captivated! It’s a moment that two don’t even see an option to halt, as something else has taken over. Perhaps that’s why the title “Trance” fits perfectly here. I also call it “heartquake” and nothing compares to it. Please visit and follow LScott Poetry to enjoy more of her…

  1. Love is in the air. This poem is so perfect. I had just finished writing a blog about love and received an E mail from our son-in-law that his youngest son became engaged last night. Love is in the air Lauren. xxOo V.

This is awesome, Lauren – sometimes when we write spontaneously and from the heart the words just flow … and these lovely words flow just beautifully! ~ Love and hugs, Julie xoxox

    1. Thanks, Julie, I was a little petrified to just write and post in a short amount of time, but the challenge is fun. I appreciate your very kind words, my friend…love and hugs to you, too! xoxo

I liked this, felt it, but sort of got caught on ‘I give you my love as you deserve’ – I couldn’t interpret it!!

Do you give them love for they deserve it, or do you give them love in the measures you believe they deserve it. Or do you believe they do not deserve love, for what they have done, and so in giving them love as they deserve, you give them none?

Sorry! You got me thinking… Great poetry.

    1. Thanks so much for your complement and comment…all of my romance poetry is written with my husband in mind and we’ve been married for a long time. He’s been the best husband to me, so in simple terms, I give him love as he deserves to be loved, because he is a wonderful man and deserving of all things good.

I hope this interpretation clears your mind and my meaning was much too simple compared to your thoughts! Thanks again for stopping by, too!

I appreciate your thoughts!
