FRIENDSHIP

If I need a place
to rest my mind
will you lend a shoulder
for just a little time?

If I need to shed
concerns and talk
can I call you up
regardless of the clock?

If I need a hug
to feel some warmth
will you offer protection
from the storm?

Thank you, my friend,
for your loving support
for your uplifting smiles
and your unselfish heart

It’s been awhile since I’ve followed through with awards, simply because of life and time limits, not because they weren’t greatly appreciated. So, I
recently received this ABC award (that I don’t remember receiving in the past) from a lovely lady and new friend,
Cha, at
http://www.dontchawannadream.wordpress.com

She is a wonderful artist that I’ve enjoyed getting to know just recently.
She also has a big heart and a constant “smile.” If you haven’t visited her blog, please do so, you won’t be disappointed! Merci beaucoup, Cha! xxx

Here are the rules for this fun award:

1) Thank and link back to who nominated you.
2) Say something about yourself with a word or a phrase beginning with each letter of the alphabet.
3) And of course nominate some other bloggers for the award!

So here goes…and I admit to cheating a bit…some have more than one word! 🙂

A Affectionate B Bride, 24 years ago C- Caring D– Dancing, love it E Emotional F – Friends, loved the sitcom G Gemstones H – Hugs & Hubby I Ice cream, Mint Chocolate Chip J– January (wedding anniversary) K– Kids (2) L– Lattes M– Music & Mountains N– Never Give Up! O– Ocean
P– Pets, dogs to be specific Q– Quarters (meter $) R–  Reading, Rainbows & Rivers S Singing T Tim McGraw U Understanding V– Vanilla W– Wine
X– X-rays (from the past, this was tough) Y– Yoda, George Lucas lives near us  Z– Zealous 🙂

Instead of choosing specific bloggers to pass this on to, I leave it up to you! If you’d like to play along and pass it on, then please feel free! This was really fun and even a little challenging! I hope you enjoyed and thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day or evening! Lauren ♥

The Here and Now

living in the here and now

I won’t be sharing a poem in this post, something a little different for me. Instead, I felt like sharing some thoughts. I hope you enjoy and feel free to chime in, too! ♥

It’s so easy to let our minds wander into the future, worrying about what could happen. It’s not difficult, at all, to let anticipation of something negative impact our daily thinking. Anything is easy, as long as it’s the antonym of optimism. Would you rather think the worst to prevent disappointment, instead of thinking positively and probably having a good day?

I confess. I’ve had these moments. Then there comes a time when we have a choice to make. We can wear a frown, stay miserable, ruining not only our day, but days for those around us. Or we can turn the frown upside down, hope for the best and have a little faith that all will work out.

Yes, very cliche. I’ve experienced, though, truth in these words. If I carry a positive attitude throughout my daily routine, I find that things do work out in the end. Have I been disappointed? Of course I have. In fact, our family is still in the midst of catching a curve ball thrown to us last fall. I’d love to throw it back! Instead, we’re trying to dodge it to the best of our ability.

Last year, after researching what we’re dealing with, on the internet one night, I cried so hard I created a twitch in my right cheek. It lasted for about a week. Boy, did I really work those face muscles! Crying is not a weakness, but a cleansing of the soul. However, too much of it can cause havoc! Needless to say, worrying about something that hasn’t happened, that could happen, probably will, but we’re really not sure, is just not worth any more hairs to highlight!

So I’m learning to live in the HERE AND NOW even more than I did before. We have today. We have today only. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring or ten years from now, but we can be happy this very moment and carry a lighter load. We can make the best of the gift of life for us, individually, for our loved ones and for our friends.

Someone very special once said, “It’s all about the Here and Now. I’m living my life for today.”

So I encourage you to Make Each Moment Matter, Each Day Count and Together, Lets Live In the Here and Now!

With love and smiles,
Lauren

FINAL EDIT

Fossils of Memory by Kruti Mehta

Hello Everyone. I am Kruti Mehta, an avid blogger and upcoming author. I have been blogging for the past the 2 years on http://www.10eveningflowers.wordpress.com. While I am not able to connect through many of you, there are enthusiastic friends around me helping me out with the same. Lauren is definitely one of them.
I started blogging back in 2011 with a passion for writing. In the same year I had fantasy visions of a girl, Rhiana. They were so strong that I had to write a story on it. And I started writing a story of a young girl Rhiana Fosters.
“In the small beautiful village of Avina lived Rihana Fosters. Rhiana is a beautiful young girl who gets spooky dreams about places and people that are completely unknown to her. Do these dreams mean anything or is her mind playing tricks on her? Is someone trying to give her a message? The book unveils the story of Rhiana and her friends and their journey towards finding the answers to all these questions.”
My book is named “Fossils of Memory”. Its releasing on 20th August. You can find more details on https://www.facebook.com/fossilsofmemory.
Journey towards it:
The concept of the book is based on imagination and fantasy of dark world. The places and characters are fictional. Writing this book was not an easy journey. I wrote till 2013 January and then I had a “writer’s block”. I waited for three more months to come out of it struggling. While the entire book was complete I could not come out with a perfect climax.

In April 2013 a friend of mine stepped in to the project. Being a blogger and writer herself she offered to help me finish the book. Her name is Himanshi shahs and her blog is http://playfulsoul.wordpress.com. I gave her the space of Co-Author and she drafted the climax for my book. This is how “Fossils of Memory” was complete.
I am a first time author and your support and suggestions would be highly valued. Do let me know if you like my book

Uncharted

Will new doors
dare to open
if what they reveal
is unexpected?

A chance worth taking
to feel more connected
or a daunting challenge
when one feels dejected

For those who live in darkness
afraid to embrace the light
believing darkness
is their only right

Then despair settles with dust
on the lonely shelf
leaving Hope to wonder
where the entry is
to redeem itself

Calm and Crazy

Hello All!

Once again, I’m behind on reading all of your wonderful blog posts.
I’ve been working on a project, which is consuming most of my time.

I haven’t written any new poems
and actually, I need to get inspired
I can’t re-post forever!
Anyway, the real busy part should be ending soon and I’ll be
visiting you again and trying to catch up a little.

To end your week, I’m sending some “calm” to soothe your “crazy.”

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
Lauren ♥

Morning (re-post)

A little past dawn
light invites itself
streaming through
the window
Feeling the stare
my eyes open
only to realize
night has bid farewell
Dreading
getting out of bed
and the biting cold
when toes
touch the floor

I pull the covers
over my head

Bodies warm
and cozy, a
duet
all snuggly

lying next
to my hubby

Daybreak can wait
I’m not willing
to greet
the chilling
hour
just yet
