lol…”vegetarian”
Okay, I love my brain. I’m thinking why did she say “Oh, Dear” in the title. What happened to the deer? Lightbulb went off…that’s why I’m the life of the party, at least the laugh of the party.
Clever poem. I love deer. They are all around my street. 🙂
You made me smile, Sam! We have them everywhere and truthfully, I love them! They’re docile and peaceful, but for those who’s passion is gardening, they are problematic. So far, we have deer resistant flowers…
🙂
I love it 🙂 I love the deer so much, they are just so beautiful!
Thanks, Autumn, I love them, too, even though they love our gardens! 🙂
Oh, this is Marvelous!!!
Thanks again, Caddo! 🙂
😆 Lauren what a clever post..loved it 🙂
Thanks, again, Soma! 🙂
Great haiku, Lauren!!
Thanks, Betty, I was inspired by our graceful guests near our home… 🙂
You are brilliant, Lauren!
Hugs ♥
I wouldn’t say that, but thanks, Deb! Hugs back! 🙂 ♥
Lauren, you made me laugh, then smile at the “deer.” 🙂
Thanks, Peg, I’m glad you enjoyed this! 🙂
We’ve got a few around here too. It’s always so magical when we get to see them.
I think they’re magical, too, but others don’t, who want their gardens to stay in tact! 🙂
I like the fact that the deer in the image is sauntering where no vegetation grows. If you enjoy haiku please visit ‘the zen space’ http://thezenspace.wordpress.com

You’re right, Marie, but I was focusing on the “sauntering” and not the vegetation in the image, so this one worked out well for me. Additionally, he’s “searching,” therefore, vegetation doesn’t need to be in the image~
This is great! I love it and it made me smile too so a lovely bonus.
I know how he feels – searching out good vegetarian food can be a nightmare!! :):) LOL
Christine
Thanks, Christine, I’m glad I could bring a smile your way! We have many around here and I love them, but others love their gardens more! 🙂 Have a wonderful day!
Beautiful Haiku and I especially loved it because I used to be in the woods very often (ok, I was a deer hunter) and watched deer for hours in the mornings and evenings. Eventually I became attached to them in a way that I couldn’t even “drop” a 12 point buck when the opportunity arose. One morning a fawn grazed fallen wild apples and pears within touching distance of me as I sat in camouflage next to a tree. My heart was racing even though I knew it couldn’t hurt me. I’ve heard of buck fever before, but apparently there is fawn fever as well 🙂
Thanks, Scott, and you made me smile, reading that you couldn’t “drop” that buck! My hubby would love to hunt, but hasn’t, yet, and that’s something he and I don’t quite agree on…I know there is a reason for it, but like the deer, they’re just so docile and beautiful…it’s a tough one, but not to make you feel bad, either! 🙂 It’s just not in my blood! Many around here don’t like them b/c they eat the gardens, but I love watching them walk down the street. So far, deer resistant flowers are working just fine! 🙂
great Haiku, with a twist of humor in the last line.. Very well done Lauren!
Ciao, Francina xxx
Thanks, Francina, I’m glad you liked that last line! xx
This deer just KNOWS he has the right to out here following his nose to some tender green stuff, right? The photo and the haiku match each other perfectly.
Yes, he does and thanks, again, Rose, you’ve been playing catch up, I see! 🙂
