We spent last weekend in Wine Country, specifically visiting our favorite boutique winery, Char Vale Vineyards. Our experiences at Char Vale have been so wonderful that we became members. So last weekend, our plan was to pick up the bottles of wine that we had ordered. But as members, we were offered complimentary wine tasting. The owner and staff always go the extra mile, and the setting is magical. On this visit, the one and only winemaker, Justin, came out to meet us, and we chatted for almost a half hour. It was interesting to learn more about the process. We also love this time of year, so watching the wardrobe of Autumn unfold was stunning, to say the least. Golden hues, oranges, reds…warm and cozy vibes. I hope you enjoy the photos…

Are you surprised that I became inspired to write? 🙂 I hope you enjoy these haiku…
(1)
harvest has ended
as season of fall arrives
field of golden hues
(2)
blue sky stretches to
infinity as we sip
notes of pear and peach
(3)
autumn parades her
golden gown through ten acres
blue sky umbrella
(4)
process continues
when leaves gently pirouette
lovely vines bare all

The weekend was beautiful beyond words, and now raindrops dance on our roof. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I wish you a wonderful day! If you found a favorite photo or haiku, let me know in the comments! 🧡❤️🍁

It looks gorgeous! The third haiku is my favourite and I especially love the burgundy red leaves. Is that a Japanese Maple?
Thanks, Darlene! I’m glad you enjoyed the photos and the haiku. And I appreciate you pointing out your favorite. 🙂 I think the trees are Japanese Maple but I’m not positive. My husband is a tree expert, so I’ll check with him and get back to you. I love the burgundy red leaves too. The colors are just stunning. ❤️🧡🍁
Awesome pictures and poetry!
Thanks so much, Annette! I’m glad you enjoyed the scenery and poetry! 🧡❤️🍁
My daughter and son-in-law in California enjoy similar vineyard get-aways. I particularly like your haiku #2.

Wine country is an American treasure. The last time I was there I was with my husband and father, both of whom are on the other side. Beautiful post, Lauren.
Aww, Mary, what a precious memory for you. And I agree, Wine Country is a treasure. Thanks so much! ❤️🍁
I love those red leaves. No wonder you were inspired to write.
I do too, Esther. Thank you! ❤️🍁
This is a new winery for me, Lauren and looks amazing. Beautiful poems and photos as well. You have to come to lake county sometime and try the wines there as well!!!! xoxoxo
You’d love it, Cindy, and thank you! That would be fun, and another wonderful weekend destination. Do you have any favorites? xoxoxo
I’ll have to try it … but when I hear there prices, I’ll head to the lake I’m sure. I have my favs for sure.. but we’ll talk or meet … Check out Gregory Grahm (winemaker for Rombauer before ), Chase water and Thorn Hill. If you go without me, I’ll set you up and you can stay at my house there. xo
Thanks for the info, Cindy. It would be great to meet up, but thanks so much for your offer. I didn’t know you had a lake house. 🙂 Maybe in the springtime…Cheers, my friend 🥂💖
Wonderful photos, Lauren, it surely looks like your weekend was perfect, so beautiful… sunny and blue! Haiku Number 2 is my favorite, could almost feel the infinity of the blue and the fragrance of the fine fruit flavors… a splendid sip of sweetly scented serenity 💖💙

What a wonderful place to visit and enjoy the beautiful sights and winery.
It’s a lovely, intimate winery, which is what we love about it. Thanks, Elizabeth! ❤️🍁
Sometime when I come up to visit — and everybody is well, my DIL promised we’d visit wineries. She grew up in Kenwood.
You’ll have a great time, and we love Sonoma County. We’ve been to several wineries in that area too. Sometimes, we’ll stay in Sonoma on the square for a weekend getaway. 🥂
Lovely photos, Lauren. ❤️🍁🍂

Marvelous haikus and photos, Lauren. My wife is more of the wine drinker in the family. My sister-in-law (now retired) used to be a winery manager at Domaine Carneros Winery in Napa. The views overlooking the vineyards from far above are impressive.
Beautiful photos and poems
Thanks so much, Sadje ❤️🍁🧡

Sounds like you had a very enjoyable trip.
It was wonderful, Binky! Have a good weekend!
You did a masterful job of painting this picture of the wine country. I lived in Sonoma Co for over a decade- and you have made it more beautiful than I ever remember it to be.
What a wonderful thing to ‘say’ Violet. It’s great to know you lived in Sonoma County. We’re in Marin County, but we love visiting north of us. 🧡🍁❤️
I lived in Point Reyes Station for nearly a decade and worked in Inverness as well. beautiful country.
Oh wow, Point Reyes is one of our favorite destinations. Toby’s is our favorite store. Basically, we love driving the back roads to West Marin. Small world.
You are always welcome dear Lauren. Have a great weekend ❤️❤️
You too, Kamal! xoxo

I used to enjoy visiting the Napa Valley to see my children who settled there for a while. It was always a joy to return to SFO airport in the early morning and see all those colourful hot air balloons in the air.
The colors are wonderful Lauren! Glad you enjoyed such a special time in this beautiful place. And well done for the poetry too – the second one is my favorite. We can feel the pleasure and it’s a bit like we were with you on this special moment.
Sending you hugs and kisses for a great week to come ✨🧡✨🧡
