I had a wonderful Mother’s Day with my hubby and son, and daughter via phone from TN. They always make me feel so special and loved. We miss our moms too, and though they’ve been gone for many years, they live in our hearts and a day doesn’t pass by without thinking of them. 💕
My Copper book is finally in the works, survived the glitches, and fingers crossed, no more are waiting on the sidelines. I hope to publish this special book in mid June.
I’m also excited for a book fair that I’m participating in this Saturday. It’s for children’s books, so Cora’s Quest is the main focus and I’ll be doing a reading as well. I’m all prepared and ready to go but have a few more days to wait. Sigh.
“Never forget that anticipation is an important part of life. Work’s important, family’s important, but without excitement, you have nothing. You’re cheating yourself if you refuse to enjoy what’s coming.”
~ Nicholas Sparks, Three Weeks with My Brother
So with all this going on and our son visiting, I’ve fallen off my online routine and apologize for missing some blog posts. It seems there never is enough time, right? But while out for Mother’s Day, I took a few photos of the gorgeous scenery at this time of year (the flowers above included). I hope you enjoy!

Lastly, I’ll end with one of my older poems.
Food for thought as you leave my little corner of blogland.
A Detour
It doesn’t matter the position of sun or moon
or where my feet have landed…
whispers find me,
their tasks needing my attention
at that very moment.
Do whispers wiggle into your mind too
like an annoying song repeating on a loop?
I question if this busyness is urgent enough
to prevent us from breathing in
the fragrance of flowers or admiring
the pageantry of wildlife outside our windows…
Surely our minds,
piled high with clutter,
deserve a detour
for some sweet refuge.

Yes! There just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done.
Glad to hear you were able to push through and get your book finished, along with getting to talk with your kids and enjoying your Mother’s Day. Good luck with the children’s book. I’m sure it will be a wonderful and inspirational book for children all over the world. 💕🤩
Thank you for your lovely words! My book isn’t finished, but I made it through the glitches. 🙂 And the book fair should be fun. Thanks again! 💗
Lauren – Oooops. I meant making it through the glitches. I wish you the best of luck finishing it. 😉🤞

Haha, no worries, just wanted to clarify. If I had finished, there would’ve been fireworks! 🎆😂 Thanks again, and I’ve just followed you! 🥰
lol 😂 that is indeed 110% accurate. You do have a very good point there.
Here are some early fireworks for when you do get it finished and published.

Happy Wednesday to you too!
Nice taste of your poetry, and how wonderful that your son read it on his road trip.
Thanks, Jacqui, and my son reading the book on his trip was a treat for me. He took several pics that I used to promote it at the time. This is one of them. 🙂
HI Lauren, I’m pleased to know everything is going well for you. I feel as if I never have enough time lately. It slips away so fast and it’s hard to get everything done. A lovely poem to end your post.
Thanks, Robbie, now if I can only make it to the finish line with nothing but ease. 🙂 That’s how I feel, and I’m not doing nearly as much as you are! Don’t forget to breathe. Thanks for your lovely words. 💕🤗
My pleasure, Lauren. I also hope you will have smooth waters ahead.
🥰🌷

Lovely poem Lauren.
Thanks so much, Sadje. 💕
You’re welcome 😉
Such a heartwarming update, Lauren! Your Mother’s Day sounds beautiful, and I truly felt the love in your words—especially the way you honor your moms and embrace those sweet, quiet memories. I’m so excited about Copper and can’t wait to hear more about the book fair and your reading of Cora’s Quest! Your poem is like a gentle breeze—so calming and reflective. Thank you for always sharing such soul-nourishing words.
As a twin mama juggling chaos, cuddles, and creativity, I always find comfort in blogs like yours. I’d love for others to visit my world of twin tales and toddler giggles too!

Thanks for your lovely comment, Diya. I’m so glad that my posts have been calming and soul-nourishing for you. I can’t remember if you’re new to blogging, but if you are, the more you interact with other like-minded bloggers, you’ll experience reciprocity. Although some people just like many posts and then follow. They don’t comment. I don’t follow everyone anymore, but this is my fourteenth year. 🙂 Anyway, I look forward to reading your posts, and thanks again. 💕
Ah, how wonderful, Lauren! All good news and looking forward to June for Copper book! 😉 xoxoxoxo
Thanks so much, Marina! Hope all is good with you, dear friend. Sending big hugs! xoxoxoxoxo
Many good news items here, Lauren! Yay and yay! 🥰❤️🥰

Good for you, Lauren. That takes dedication. I wish you lots of success with your book.
Thanks for the good wishes, Anneli. We can never have too many. 🙂
Finding that balance while life continues to move onward is not an easy thing to do, but you’re going to be okay dear Lauren. 🤗 Allow yourself to get off of the horse, recharge and get back on when you’re ready. 👍🏼 There is absolutely no reason to apologize. Do you ladybug! 🐞💖🦋
Kym, you always provide such wisdom! Thanks for your lovely words. I always feel bad when I miss posts, but sometimes, it’s impossible to keep momentum. Sending hugs and smooches back to you, dear friend! ❤️🌷🥂😘
You’re so very welcome and it’s my pleasure Lauren. Stay encouraged and empowered! Cheers! 😎🥂😊💖🥰

What a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration, Lauren. You captured the beauty of moments in your profound and insight poem. Sending hugs!
Thanks so much for your beautiful words, Rebecca. Sending more hugs back to you! 💝
I can’t wait to hear more about your book fair. How exciting. It sounds like you’ve had a wonderful Mother’s Day! Beautiful photos and poem. Thanks for sharing.
I’m excited, and I’ll probably do a post about it. 🙂 Hope you had a great Mother’s Day too! And I’m glad you liked the pics and poems. Thanks for your kind words, Elizabeth! 💕
I will look forward to your post about your book fair. I found after joining SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writer’s and Illustrators) that children’s book writers are so kind most giving of advice and time. However, I don’t know much about poets. They’re probably equal. Maybe you should look into SCBWI in your area? I belonged to the Southern California chapter and found it so helpful.
A friend of mine joined SCBWI. I do have another children’s book I’ll work on once I’m finished with my Copper book. 🙂 Then I have a couple more loose ideas for children’s books. So it would probably be a good idea. 🙂 I’ll look into it and thanks for the nudge. There will be about 35 authors, so to me not small, and I’ll see how everyone is. Obviously, we’re all competing, but my attitude is to support all of us. I’m going with a “it will be a fun time” attitude. 🥰
I’m butting in, but y ou shouldn’t wait. They are such a supportive group. You can join and look at their resources online before you go to a meet up or in person meeting. Or never do. They have so many online resources.
I appreciate you butting in! 😁 I’ll check them out soon! Thanks, Elizabeth! 💕
😅
I hope you had a wonderful time at the book fair and it certainly looks beautiful there. how cool that your son’s cross country road trip visiting the parks!
Thanks, Beth, but the book fair is this coming Saturday. The pics are from Mother’s Day when we headed west for lunch on the back country roads. I know, very cool about our son’s trip. We’ve never done that. 🙂 ❤️
well, my timeline for you is off, but my wishes for you don’t change )
Lovely poem, Lauren! ❤️
Thanks, Tina! I’m glad you liked this oldie. 🙂 xo
My pleasure. Have a great one.
These are such happy flowers!
They sure are! I’m glad you like the photos.
OMG! Have the BEST time at the book fair. That is so cool Lauren.
And YES, enjoy the time waiting. There used to be an advertising slogan for travelling – Getting there is half the fun.
When I read you son is visiting, I saw your sun is visiting. Copper’s book is happening.
Your life sounds wonderfully full. Enjoy it! Blogland will be her when you get back.
xoxoxoxoxo
PS Thank you for the wonderful poem!
Thanks a bunch, Resa! I’m excited, and I remember that slogan for traveling too. Aww, I love your comment about son and sun and Copper’s book, slowly but surely. When I lose momentum with blogging, I feel bad. That’s just me. 🙂 But life intercepts at times and we have to step back. Anyway, thanks for everything, Resa! All your encouragement and friendship! And I’m glad you liked the poem! It’s an oldie but hopefully, still a goodie. 🥰💕😘
I love oldie goodies.
Have the best time! Shine!

Congrats on being almost there with Copper’s book, Lauren, and have fun at the book fair. Your poem is beautiful, and I loved this message:

Thanks for your good wishes about my book, Diana, and for your lovely words. I love reading the lines that resonate with others. And the book fair was successful in every way! Such a great day! I’ll post about it this week sometime. By the way, your comment showed up 24 times on my blog. 🙃 Who knows what happened, but this is a first, so those gremlins are getting creative. Enjoy your Sunday! Hugs 🥰
What? 24 times. That is sooo weird. I promise I only posted it once. Lol.
It is weird, and I didn’t think you’d want 24 replies, so I deleted 23. 🙂 The glitches keep us on our toes. 😁
Lol. Thank you!
🥰
