Friday Ripples

One droplet of kindness is all it takes
A ripple effect that one drop creates.
A simple smile
Always in style,
Days in a life a gesture shapes.

Warm, beautiful days finally arrived, which reminds me of our Sierra trips.
We will soon swim in this stunning lake again.

Cheers!

Happy Friday, and wishing you a fabulous weekend ahead! ❀️❀️

  1. Beautiful poem and photos. I realized with the warm weather and spending more time outside, I am much happier. I introduced myself to a new neighbor on my walk, took photos of her dogs for our community newsletter. Then I complimented two people at the grocery store and watched them smile. It’s contagious.

    1. Thanks so much, Cindy, but this isn’t from a prompt. It’s coincidental if it’s similar. πŸ™‚ I’d love to do the prompts that we see traveling around here, but I don’t have time. Between my posts and struggling to read blogs, I don’t know how others do it. But I love reading the different takes. πŸ™‚ Have a good weekend! ❀️🌺

  2. Yes Lauren, all it takes is one droplet of kindness. πŸ’§ Even if you don’t get it in return, it does your heart good when we don’t let the issues of others dictate our emotions. A place of sanctuary can be a good getaway if you know how to navigate it. Thanks for sharing this. πŸ₯°πŸ’žπŸ™πŸΌ

    1. I’m glad this post resonated with you, Kym. And I like what you said about not getting a smile in return. When we give, we feel satisfaction, so receiving doesn’t matter. Thanks for your wonderful words! Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my friend! πŸ’™πŸ©΅πŸ˜ŽπŸ₯‚πŸŒ·πŸ’§πŸ’¦

      1. Oh my dear Lauren you are so very welcome my friend. I love your ripples of love you give so generously. You too enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs and smooches! πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸ˜πŸŒΊβ˜•

  3. One drop of kindness can change the world and so simple to do so. I love this, Lauren, and it is perfect for my prompt for this week. Do you mind it I add it? 😍

  4. I really liked your verse, Lauren. It made me think of my late dad. When I’d spend time with him towards the end of his life, I noticed that when in public he would always smile at and/or greet strangers. I was quite taken by that as he seemed a pretty private man most of his life. So it really made an impression and inspired me to do the same. It’s infectious! Sometimes when I’m feeling low, doing that is the lift I need to give myself!

That lake looks very inviting, and the wine doesn’t hurt either! I hope you get to enjoy both there soon! 😊

    1. I’m so glad you liked my poem, Steve, and thanks for sharing the endearing story about your dad. It’s wonderful that you carried on his kindness, but I’m sorry to hear of his passing. Smiling is infectious, and you’re right, giving a smile is a gift to ourselves, even if the smile isn’t returned.

The lake is awesome and literally stunning without the tourism. And we’ll be there in a couple of months. Until then, we enjoy wine-ing on the weekends after a week’s work and we’ll look forward to the lake. During the low times with my health in the past, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to camp again. But now that I’m doing better, I know I can do it. And in the meantime, we’re looking into buying a trailer or a van. πŸ™‚ We shall see. Happy Sunday, my friend! πŸ₯‚πŸ₯°πŸŸπŸ›₯️⛡️

      1. It’s great that you’re feeling you’ll be up to camping again, Lauren.

We’re having a nice sunny Sunday after rain and snow earlier this week. Actually got out on the bike today, too. Have a wonderful week ahead! β˜€οΈ

  5. One small act of kindness can go a very long way. It’s the simple things and gestures that often speak the loudest and has he most impact. Lovely to hear warm days have arrived for you, Lauren. Enjoy your upcoming trip and your swim in the lake. Gorgeous weather in that photos 😊

  6. Beautiful poem, Lauren!

Well it’s Sunday now, and your ripples of warmth and love are still eddying out.

They have reached me in Toronto.

    Have the best week!!
