Sitting on the shore
in its vast presence,
the surface sparkles
like a rare jewel
like tiny jets
Damselflies with their
blue, iridescent wings
gracefully flit about
relatives by nature
Tiny threads of peace
weave into the marrow
of our souls
A great fortune
to play a part with nature
in this moment of existence –
to discover such a gem

A joy in words and images! Huge sigh! 🌷💖🌷
Thanks so much, Marina! That huge sigh is always warranted when we spend time with nature, especially in this spot. It’s truly magical. Hugs and love for a wonderful Friday, my friend. ❤️💝❤️
Thank you, Lauren, for this beautiful praise of Nature!

Thanks so much, Kamal. I’m happy you enjoyed this tribute to nature. 💕
You are always welcome Lauren and yes nature is always at its best. xxxxxx
It looks like you had a wonderful time by the lake, Lauren! Beautiful images and poetry!
This lake is magical, Miriam. We hike from a lower lake after camping, and it’s a 4.5 mile hike up to 6,700 elevation. You can’t help but have a peaceful, wonderful time at both lakes. Nature never disappoints. Thank you for your kind words. ❤️
I love hiking, Lauren. We haven’t done it for a while. I’m glad you had a wonderful time. ❤
HI Lauren, this is a beautiful poem. I also love lakes and dragonflies. I was surprised when I learned that dragonflies are the most ancient of all insects and evolved 300 million years ago. Incredible.
Thank you, Robbie. You’d love this lake; it’s truly magical, and we get there after a 4.5 mile hike up. We backpack and stay a few nights. The lower lake is also gorgeous and that’s where we camp. These are the destinations that sparked inspiration for some stories in my book. That’s incredible about dragonflies, something I didn’t know.
Hi Lauren, I would love this place. I thought that titbit of information about dragonflies was amazing. Have a great Saturday.
I’ll share that info. about dragonflies with my sister because she’s always loved them. Have a great Saturday, too, Robbie.
Lovely poem Lauren and what stunning scenery.
Thanks so much, Alison. I’m glad you enjoyed this ode to nature.
Beautiful. Well said.
There’s nothing like soaking up that mountain fineness and swimming in the pristine water.
Thanks, Honey. xoxo
A beautiful poem and photos. The scenery is gorgeous.
Thanks so much, John. This lake is magical and is the inspiration for a story in my book.
Love Dragonflies Lauren, though I don’t get to see many, but when I do they are truly magical.
As are your images.. ❤ Lovely share thank you ❤
I agree, Sue, they are magical and so is this lake. 🙂 You’d love it, too, because of the nature lover you are…Thanks so much for your beautiful words, my friend. xoxo
