This past Saturday was our son’s college graduation from UC Davis. He majored in Political Science and minored in Communications. We’re so proud of his accomplishments and can’t wait to see where his next adventure takes him. My husband and I are now proud parents of two UC Davis grads, and the college days have ended. π
This leads me into sharing some wise quotes on chasing dreams and being true to yourself at the same time:
βTo be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.βΒ
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
βAlways believe in yourself and always stretch yourself beyond your limits. Your life is worth a lot more than you think because you are capable of accomplishing more than you know. You have more potential than you think, but you will never know your full potential unless you keep challenging yourself and pushing beyond your own self imposed limits.βΒ
~ Roy T. Bennett
βDreams become regrets when left in the mind, never planted in the soil of action.βΒ
~ Auliq-Ice
βThe point of dreams was never to be the affordable option, it was the one everyone else saw as a mistake and every creative person saw as an opportunity.βΒ
~ Anastasia Bolinder
“Remember your dreams and fight for them. You must know what you want from life. There is just one thing that makes your dream become impossible: the fear of failure.”
~ Paulo Coelho
SO, CHEERS TO REACHING FOR THE STARS AND TOUCHING THAT FINISH LINE. BUT…CHEERS TO ALSO TRYING YOUR HARDEST, MAYBE FAILING, THEN HAVING THE COURAGE AND PERSEVERANCE TO GET BACK UP AGAIN! πππ

Thanks so much, John, and you’re right, UC Davis is a great school. We’re happy it all worked out that they both went there, even though unplanned in the beginning. Yes, definite happy times!
I did my undergrad at Michigan State University and it was a choice of necessity. Grad at Notre Dame. Was glad I was able to get the undergrad degree in the first place. Over time no one cares that I didn’t go to Stanford, especially me.
Aw…great photos, Lauren! Congratulations to your son and you too! Great quotes…I’ll be borrowing those! β€
Thanks so much, Jill, about the photos and for your wishes. Enjoy those quotes, also. I loved them, too, and they were a good addition to this post. π

Take time to pause for celebration your achievement. Well done all. Then it’s time to begin on planning for the next steps and goals.
Wise words, Ben, thank you! We haven’t had time to pause just yet though because we’re planning a grad. party for him on Saturday. After the party, we will pause and collapse. π He already has a plan, so we’ll see what happens next.
Lauren, congratulations!! A huge achievement and I am sure you are SO proud! Your quotes touch me deeply and are relevant to us all, whatever stage we are at in our lives. Fear can eat away at dreams, turning them to dust and it’s so important to not let this rule! Warmest wishes to your son and his next steps! hugs xx
Thanks, Annika! I can’t even describe how proud, and I’m so glad you liked the quotes. It took longer than I thought to really find quotes that stood out from the rest. Fear has paid me a visit before, I admit, but then I’ve opened the door for its exit. π Thanks again for your warm wishes and kind words. Hugs back to you! β€π
