There are no words
to be penned
They caught a ride
on the last gust
of wind
A one-way ticket
Emptiness settles in
I’ve tried pulling
consonants and vowels
from anywhere and
everywhere,
hoping to reunite
them with emotions
but they’ve slipped
through my fingers
only to land on a
another poet’s
blank piece of
paper

I know how that feels! !!
At least I’m not alone then! 🙂
Well this is a start Lauren; you have penned some words very well. I am feeling pretty much the same as I think I mentioned to you before. But it’s no good forcing it; I’ve been trying and it all ends up in the bin. I’m sure we will find our way again soon. ❤️ Xxx
Thanks so much, Chris! I’ve only written a few and one of them you just saw on fb. 🙂 Isn’t it funny how that bin gets more action than our journals sometimes? Well, our muses will come when they’re good and ready. As for my blog, I’m undecided. It had been a month since I posted and I think I’m slowly fading out but not completely.
I’ve decided to return to school (no more talk) so I’m taking the steps needed for that, now that I’m done with both of my books. There will be more writing on the horizon but I don’t know any specifics. Anyway, just thought I’d fill you in since I’m not spending much time in blogland. Sending love and hugs! xo ♥
New avenues Lauren! It’s all good! Love and hugs 😊❤️ Xxx
Whatever may have slipped …the essence of beautiful writing is still captured in your piece 🙂
Oh, thank you so much for your beautiful comment! It is most encouraging and I hope the dry spell ends very soon…take care, Lauren 🙂
You’re most welcome and I am sure it will very soon 🙂 Much love – Neha
There are countless thoughts floating around, Lauren, and many of them are keenly looking forward to find expression through your creative space… I am waiting…best wishes… Raj.
Aww, Raj, you always write such beautiful comments that are warming to the heart, thank you! I’m slowing down in blogland so I’m sorry if I’ve missed your posts but I’ll try to visit soon. I’m tackling other goals in life, which are taking me away from the computer. I hope all is well with you, my friend…
Writing even though you’re not sure what to write about is still writing 🙂 Hope all is well ❤
I know, it does work that way, doesn’t it? All is well, just busy in life and not so much in blogland right now, Iris. I hope all is well with you, too! ♥
I’m doing fine 🙂 ♥
“consonants and vowels”
Got me thinking. This phrase can be metaphor for so many things in life.
I’m glad my words got you thinking, Carl, and you’re right about the metaphor. I’ll watch for your poem or cartoon! 🙂
I like your take on that. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right words.
Thanks a bunch, Binky! I’ve only written a few poems and have slowed down here in blogland, as I’m starting to focus on other things in life…hope all is well in Wombania!
The muse will return Lauren, it always does.😀 wishing you a happy and blessed Easter.
In its own time, you’re right, Geraldine! Wishing you all the same, my friend…I’m not blogging as much while focusing on other goals now. But I won’t hide completely. ♥
Well delivered, Lauren – Thank You
Best wishes
john
Thanks so much, John! I wrote this while in a writer’s block. These are the only words that came to me. 🙂 Take care!
Looks like some of them landed right side up for you! 🙂
Heehee, maybe so, Melody, but I was in a dry spell when I wrote this. 🙂 I’m slowing down in blogland but I’ll visit you soon. I hope life is treating you well! ♥
I have been pretty scarce myself. Life comes in fits and spurts and waves now and then, and it gets tough to maintain an on-line life too. Happy Easter!
It sure does…thanks and Happy Easter to you, too!
Great poem. I often feel the same.
Thanks, Michelle; it’s nice to know I’m not alone. 🙂 I’m fading out of blogland, working on returning to school (in my youthful age) 🙂 so I’m sorry for missing your posts but I’ll visit you this week. Hope all is well! ♥
Lauren, good for you. Even when you go back to school, I hope you’ll stop back in blogland once in a while to let us know how you are doing. Hugs
Thanks so much, Michelle! I don’t think I’ll leave it completely and I do miss you and many others. It’s just time to re-focus my energy in a different direction. 🙂 Hugs back to you, my friend…
Interesting choice of words, so in this case you didn’t lose them. lol. Keep those poems coming Lauren.
Well, these were the only words I could find, Ian! 🙂 Thank you so much! I’m slowing down in blogland but will still be around a little. Sorry for missing your posts but I’ll be over to read soon. Hope all is well!
Hi Lauren…Enjoying your posts—thanks so much for sharing! Wishing you days of gentle winds—soft curves and wonder…Phil
Thanks so much for your beautiful comment, Phil. I may not be posting as much because I’m working on other goals that take me away from the computer. But I appreciate your visit and I will visit you soon, too! I wish you the same also!
I love that poem Lauren. The last part really intrigued me
Thanks, Scott! These were the only words that came while in a dry spell. It’s hard to believe I haven’t posted in a month. I’m slowing down here in blogland but am undecided as to what I’ll do permanently. 🙂
How paradoxical Lauren Dear,I have never felt before such emptiness filled with quiet, dormant thoughts and feelings trying to find way out … Hope you and yours are keeping well my lovely friend!Sending warm spring hugs and smiles your way 🙂 ✿) ♡ ,Doda xxx
I wrote this during a dry spell, Doda, feeling like I’ll never find words to write again. 🙂 Of course, they do come again but in their own time! I’m doing well, just busy with other things and fading out of blogging. I hope you’re doing well, too, my friend, and I apologize for missing your posts but I’ll be over your way soon…sending many hugs and blessings your way, too! ♥ xoxo
But still,it is so meaningful … It’s the way you described through the verses your flat feeling.I’m fine, thank you,but as busy as always and left behind … I started playing catch up again, join me to make it easier … Don’t push yourself, take your time because it works like the dry spell you mentioned above. We are not in the same mood all the time … I wish you and yours a Happy Easter from the bottom of my heart while sending love and blessings your way 🙂 ❤ ,Doda xxx
Aww, Doda, you are so sweet and right, too, about not all being in the same mood…I wish you a very blessed Easter, as well, my friend, and I will see you soon. I’ll probably have more time for visiting blogs this weekend. Hugs, smiles and love to you! ♥
Wiosenne pozdrowienia z Warszawy
Thanks Marko and all the same to you!
Lauren we all have our reason and it seems not many of us serving our blogs now a day but that is not to mean we don’t think on each other and as you see I come to check you OK… watching you x
Thanks for checking on me, Doron! I may only post once a month or so and visit when I can…this break is lasting a little longer; just focusing on other things. Maybe there’s something in the air and it’s contagious! 🙂 Take care, my friend. Hugs and blessings!
Happy Easter, my friend!
Thanks so much, Stefan, and wishing you a Happy Easter, too!
Think of the dry spells this way: dry wit is still wit! This piece is a perfect example of how talking about the difficulty of writing something interesting can lead to an interesting piece of writing in itself! Spring is springing out of you even when you don’t notice, my dear! 🙂
xoxoxo,
Kathryn
Thanks, Kathryn! It’s amazing how we go through dry spells, feeling like we’ll never find those words to write again and then there they are. 🙂 I’m not blogging as often right now and not sure if I’ll return to the same momentum. So sorry for missing your posts, my friend..I’ll try to visit very soon. I’m working on other things in life and one is returning to college in the fall, which I’m prepping for now. 🙂 I’m having fun on fb and that’s about it. Maybe a monthly blog post will be it for awhile. Hope you’re doing well and life is treating you kindly in TX! Sending hugs! ♥ xo
The best part I would point to is the efforts you are making for it. Every beginner faces this situation and succeeds with the consistent endeavors.
pls accept my apology for sending twice the same comment. I was not sure of if it went through…
No worries. It’s hard to know sometimes with WordPress and thanks so much for your wonderful comments, visit and follow!
Thanks! I m relieved now! People do get offended on repeated comments.
Not at all, unless the comments are rude but then they wouldn’t be approved anyway. 🙂 Have a wonderful Sunday!
Your nice words reflect about your kind character. Thanks for wishes! the same goes for you too.

The optimistic way of looking at things! Thanks, Geo! Hope all is well with you. I’m actually not blogging as often now; just busy with other tasks at home. I may post once a month, if anything. 🙂 Take care!
