Before I met my husband, I was in the end of a 3 year relationship going nowhere fast.
My hope of meeting Mr. Right was rapidly fading.
I was only around 26, but I still felt time was running out.
Then, I put my refrigerator up for sale, he bought it and the rest is history!
So…we met in a funny way, but
it just goes to show you
that when you least expect it,
love happens!
Our paths were tangled, indirectly
We were unaware of
what was about to take place
The pace was swift and
it was fair to say
Our lives were about to change
I won’t rearrange the series of events
Some too laughable to erase
In any case
We crossed that bridge
through the sale of a Frig
Yes, don’t underestimate
what God can create humorously
that may become blissfully amazing
A month passed by
Hearts all a flutter
You better believe we were in love
Six months later
Riding a ski lift to the top
He popped the question
Six months after that
We said I do
A swift pace it was
because
We just knew
Now a little grayer
More laugh lines showing
Two kids still growing
We must be blessed
Sounds a bit crazy, however
It’s still love forever

I just loved this poem Lauren. Also ,the story of how you an your husband found each other was not what I expected, but I love it! 🙂
Thanks so much, Gabby! I know, it’s an unexpected way to meet, but I am oh, so thankful for that frig! 🙂
What a beautiful poem and I love how you and your husband met, too 🙂 You are right love happens when we least expect it 🙂 Selling a frig 🙂 that is just so sweet.
Thanks so much, Autumn! Yes, this frig story will be our memory forever! We ended up selling the frig much later and felt a tug when we did it! 🙂
A great poem, and a similar story to mine, but not the fridge; a blind date, whilst visiting a friend out of town, trying to escape the pain of a break up from a three year relationship! Within a year married too! How about that, 23 years later and 3 kids…………. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thanks, Sharon! I can’t believe how similar our stories are! Amazing! And 23 years, too! Congrats to you, also! By the way, my blind dates weren’t successful, at all! 🙂

Thanks very much, Elle! I’m glad our story made you smile! It was definitely unexpected, but I’m thankful for that silly appliance! 🙂

Thanks, Eliza! Yes, that frig was a blessing in disguise! We, later, sold it and felt a tug when we did, but we’re still together! 🙂

I love it, adn thank you for sharing it with me. I love the way you two met. I know anything is possible! God Bless 🙂
Well, it happened when I least expected it, which is also a popular quote “it’ll happen when you least expect it!” 🙂
Oops, thanks, PJ, I’m glad you liked it! We sold the frig a few years later, after getting married, which tugged at our hearts! 🙂
