Is there a challenge enticing you, but your lack of confidence makes you shy away from even trying? Well, do you realize you are allowing negative voices to control your actions? You are giving them free rent in your brain. How kind of you. Kidding. Only You know what your capabilities are without having anyone remind you, not even yourself! So, you should evict those voices! Now! Don’t wait! But it’s not easy, is it? We’re too quick to second guess ourselves, so we listen…well, listen to this…
Copper thinks he’s a lap dog. He has no idea that he is tall and lean, weighs 75 lbs. and is all muscle. Hence, he is not a lap dog! Truth is, because he’s confident in how he feels and because he sees himself as a chihuahua, he gracefully curls his body and folds his long legs to fit into the tiniest space – especially in the spotlight of the sun. He is the most faithful sun worshiper. And he’ll place himself between two pieces of furniture and lean. Yes, he’s a leaner. He leans on us when he sits next to us. He leans against the sofa and chairs and anything else that will hold his weight.
So, be like Copper and just do what you set your mind to. Don’t second guess yourself. Don’t give those voices free rent anymore! You have more important data to occupy your mind and Dogs really do know best, don’t they? 🙂
Stand tall on your own two feet – don’t give doubt the upper hand. And observe your furry family members who truly know how to live a life of happy!

Morning coffee time
Copper joins us in the morning because this is his favorite
spot by the heat.
(he hasn’t acquired a taste for coffee, though)
He also loves the warmth of the sun, but is this a comfortable
pillow?
He changed his mind and is now completely content.

and realize they were the big things.”

🙂 🙂 🙂
The first day of spring
has come and gone
and only a speck
of sun has shown
Instead, tears fall
from the sky at dawn
and leaves remain
windblown

(For those of you who read my previous post,
you’ll know that poetry inspiration has been nil.
These words recently came to me though, and I
hope you enjoy.)
I decided to pull this poem from my 2012 archives
and dedicate it to my friends whose lives are
abundantly snowy. 🙂 Waking up to white blankets
of snow each morning sounds breathtaking, but
I know it can take a toll. So I wish my friends in
frozen lands much warmth from the sun when it
does peek through, staying focused on the arrival of
spring in another month and remember, cuddling
is also good for warming the heart. ♥
Whispering wind
Biting mountain air
Slushy footsteps
in laden boots
Sunbeams peeking
through cotton ball clouds
Shoulders touching
Parkas rubbing
Gloved hands holding
Red noses lead
icy cold to the touch
Eyelash icicles
forming in fantasy
Faces stinging
to wind’s embrace
Snowy ornaments
in towering trees
White blankets
on the ground
Glorious beauty
all around

(Stay warm & safe)
♥
There’s a home for negativity
It’s called the “round file”
Toss it in with verve
Let it stay for awhile
Watch your life improve
Get better in rapid time
Without it’s trying presence
Your world is now sublime

Wishing you a day filled with sunshine,
even if your weather isn’t smiling! ♥
♥
Our heat wave finally ended. It’s warm, but beautiful and bearable. So Copper and I ventured out into the sunshine, beginning with a short drive of about 15 minutes. Then we hiked uphill (about 25 minutes) to our first stop, where one of us had a treat. Can you guess who? 🙂 We then hiked onward to our final lake destination. It’s about a 6 mile round trip hike. (Keep in mind, these photos were taken with my iPhone and the photo of Copper lying down came out a little blurry, but I thought it worth sharing, anyway.)
At the end of our adventure, I tried to get photos of us, but it was difficult synchronizing our smiles. What you see turned out a little funky and maybe, classic, with Copper’s cooperation! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed “hiking” along with us
and I wish you a wonderful week ahead,
filled with smiles and kisses. ♥
