In Honor of Earth Day…

and this sunny, Monday morning, I’m sharing a poem from my book, Ever So Gently. If you’ve already read it, I hope you don’t mind a repeat. 🙂 This poem was inspired from one of our lake trips in the Sierra Mountains…

The First Morning

Our eyes open to chirps
from high in the fir trees,
and we hear the rustle
of a skittering squirrel.
The evening before,
every creature
became silent
as darkness sank
into the evening.
But this morning,
with sunlight
caressing the lake,
we walk the few steps
to calm water,
nestle into our chairs
and slowly sip our coffee.
We listen.
Peace.
Cottony clouds drift by.
We want to move into
them, feel their softness
enfold us.
They shift with the grace
of a swan.
Ripples shimmer above sand.
Art in clear water.
And this is when we watch morning happen…

It’s really that simple!

Deep rooted in youth
love unconditionally
more practice needed

Vulnerable heart
Tears in waiting if broken
All people the same

Let’s find it in our hearts to practice kindness,
less judgement, more acceptance, and to spread
love exponentially. It’s really that simple.

Wishing you a great start to your week,

Monday’s Memo :) (re-post)

Dear, Dear Weekend

Where have you gone

Your visit ended suddenly

I feel so forlorn

but I’ll make it through

the next five days

with smiles and laughter

Confidence and praise

I’ll miss you terribly

though, I’m grateful for this day

and it’s new opportunities

more input for my brain

So until we meet again

I bid you farewell

Stay happy and cheerful

Take care of yourself!

Many of you have seen the original post from last year,
http://lscotthoughts.com/2012/04/23/memo-to-monday/
but it felt right for posting today, again!
Hope you enjoyed a second time, too,
and have a great Monday! ♥

:)

Hello Monday! :)

There is no poem for today,
but for the lack of a poem,
I though I’d share these beautiful flowers
my hubby and I bought at a local
farmer’s market this weekend.

I just love fresh flowers in the house.
The colors brighten the room and lift spirits
and remind us of God’s love through
nature’s beauty that we have
an abundance of…

Wishes for a Magnificent Monday! ♥♥♥

A Mighty Monday Message

Make this day a positive existence to your being

Over and above any other day of the week

No matter how you may feel after the weekend’s festivities

Draft a mental outline of opportunity, possibility and perseverance

And don’t let go of those inspirations, as the rewards

You receive will be even more than what you deserve~
