I loved this photo from my wonderful and long time friend, Sabrina,
and thought it would be perfect for part of the poem.
So let’s end the week with a little romance
and a beautiful sunrise. ♥
I said, “I do”
You said, “I will”
after all these years
here we are still
following the sunrise
watching where it leads
always hand in hand
there’s nothing more we need

the colors
in my rainbow
Cleansing
in my rain
Warmth
in my winter
Healing
for my pain
You’re
everything around
everything beside
everything within
the world I reside

The years around my eyes
have a way of surprising me
because deep down inside
I feel amazingly youthful
but, when expected changes
begin to surface
no disguise is possible
for they are openly truthful
So, My Love, will you still see
the beauty from back then
and will you hold fast to
what lies within?

older together. But, my words don’t
reflect any insecurity in my own marriage.

I long to be your only star
within your sky of dreams
I ask you to open your heart
repair the broken seams
I apologize for words unsaid
for those said time and again
To hurt you was not my intention
I often wonder how you’ve been
I only wish to see you smile
hear you laugh among the trees
I only long to hold you close
feel your breath beside the breeze
Chances don’t come freely
I know this in my heart
My plea you’ll hear one more time
to keep us ne’er apart

Pulses race with empty time
His mustache sweeps
over creamy skin
drinking in sweetness
becoming drunk with need
in a moment defining the bond
they share
a moment needed
more than air they breathe
and as they reach the peak
eyes on each other
they smile
anticipating
next time…

Isn’t this our song?
The night you held me closely
and I knew I belonged
Do you hear my heartbeat
so in sync with yours?
It’s amazing how well we’ve fit
throughout all these years
Do you know the spell you cast
when you look into my eyes?
My knees fall weak, my dreams are you
Your love makes me high
Our happiness and hills we’ve climbed
are tightly in our minds
They’re for the scrapbook we created
full of laughter and times we cried
I wish for twenty-four more,
of making memories with you
I wouldn’t be complete, My Love,
You’re my rock; My Love so true
