Offering Good Cheer

Life picassa 2014

The holidays are joyful in many ways, but they can also be tough.
Skipping Christmas is often wished for through difficult circumstances and going through each day with merry measure, being joyous all together, simply may not happen.

We all have problems we’re dealing with on various levels. No one is exempt and as we turn on the news, trying to be joyful in a world filled with so much tragedy isn’t easy; it’s hard enough to comprehend.

So I’m offering a little bit of good cheer and inspiration. It’s not a lot and it might not help. Then again, it might make a difference for even one person reading, which would mean the world to me.

Remember, while the road may be unpredictable, you’ll always have “tough and strong” to lean on.

Sending Love, Smiles and Blessings for this day and all days to come,
and wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

I Ask This of You

after the rain 1 final

There are times when I’ve failed you
allowing my worried mind to guide
Being led deep into the darkness
where fear would reveal its ugly head

I wish to undo negative thoughts
and faithless feelings in my heart
for I am ashamed of my weakness
where tears are mine to shed

I know you walk with me in
each day that I take a new breath
When I see the sun rise once again
I’m in awe of your loving grace

Though uncertainty lies on the path ahead
I’m not chained to these dismal ways
Will you cast forgiveness upon my soul?
With renewed trust, I hope it’s not too late

A Moment’s Peace

shade tree

Relaxation finds me beneath this tree
pondering life and sweet serenity
Butterflies do their carefree dance
in the air is the scent of romance
From where I sit in a patch of shade
squirrels scamper on the carpet of jade
Birds join in with a song or two
their melodies erase my moods of blue
Life bounces by, yet stillness abounds
calming every nerve with all unique sounds
This pillar of strength shelters and embraces
while emotions change to different faces
I close my eyes to the whispers of the breeze
allowing my mind to finally be at ease

Ideal

Beautiful Blooms June 2011 004

With a shy confession, I must admit
sometimes, I dream of perfection
where the road ahead is one of silk
and balance has no objection

Where answers dangle from the trees
as butterflies gently pass by
and happiness bounces, abundantly
as high as the big blue sky

However, perfection would prevent us
from growing through the strife
and maybe being grateful
wouldn’t live in our life

So our heartbeats set the cadence
as we march with steps of brave
We find good in the clouds
as the road ahead we pave

On the Edge of Consciousness

Floating-Beauty-cloud-backgrounds

We’ll hold each other close
with our hearts beating in sync
Their rhythm will do the rocking
while we drift into sleep

Cloud floating is what we need
to relax our bodies and mind
Creating dreams of only hope,
to the dark not being resigned

When the light awakens us
let our story’s ending be different
but if reality hasn’t changed,
guide us forward without ignorance

Foul Ball

Bad news doesn’t discriminate
One day we’re celebrating,
drinking champagne
then in a blur’s time,
we’re wiping tears away

We strengthen our defense
without even trying
at the same time,
praying and sliding

While the outcome relies deeply
on the strength in our mitts
Will it knock us down
or keep us going
without limits?

If you land on your bum
for a minute or two
taking time to sulk
feeling bad for you,
It’s alright
that’s all part of life

but don’t pack your bags
and stay there too long
You’ll feel much better
Fighting the Fight
Keeping your Face to the Light
and Trying to be Strong

Around the Bend

I live on the corner
of happy and content
but, sometimes my mind lingers
into the neighborhood of
melancholy

Living with joy
would be a better choice
yet, often, I find the door locked
and no matter how loudly I knock
it won’t budge

 It takes courage to push
once in awhile,
make your presence known
that you are strong
and you belong

 nurturing your roots
wherever they may grow

The Other Side

A part of life enters in
without an invitation
It’s unfortunately deep,

overwhelmingly
vast

Its color isn’t soothing
like the turquoise beauty
of tropical oceans
Instead, its texture
is rough
to the touch

Nontransparent,
but extremely murky
with complete obscurity

One would not find
wading pleasure
in this entity
for what lies beneath
could tangle one’s feet

but sometimes choice
isn’t an option
and your toes get sucked in
before realization pays you a visit
and you struggle beyond words
to keep your head above water
trying to protect what’s in your heart
what truly matters

I’ll be taking another blogging break for awhile,
so take care of yourselves.
Be safe, healthy and happy!

Sending hugs, love and many blessings,
