The 1-in-100 WARRIOR AWARD

Warrior Woman

I am warrior, hear me roar!

Well, actually, Miro of Warrior Poet Wisdom roared and Christy answered the call. The nomination call that is. Then Christy, poeticparfait.com, nominated me and I answered! Thank you, Christy!

This is another very special award when you read thoroughly what it stands for, thus, I am extremely humbled and grateful that Christy chose me!   She is an inspiration to me with her writing ability, her poetic thoughts and her genuine soul (not to mention, her love for chocolate is a benefit)~  Thank you so much, Christy, for this much appreciated nomination!  I am privileged to have met you and I look forward to being inspired even more from your wonderful talent.  Please visit her, if you haven’t already, and your day will be complete~

When I first read Miro’s thoughtful reflection about what this award means, then found out that Christy nominated me, I was all the more humbled, as I have admired Miro’s poetry for awhile now and am inspired by the life lessons he shares with readers. He reminds us to be both sincere and strong at the same time. Please visit his blog, if you are not already acquainted with his work.

The 1-in-100 Warrior Award
Warrior Status.

Thank you, my friend.

The guidelines upon receipt of said award are:

Guidelines for the 1-in-100 Warrior Award: Warriors are not motivated by awards or fame. They see awards not as an opportunity for the ego to rejoice, but rather an opportunity to honor other warrior brothers and sisters. To acknowledge and honor the rarity of the warrior, it is recommended that the recipient passes this award on to only *one* other blogger that they feel goes above and beyond to serve and inspire others, and who maintains their grace and positivity even in the face of difficult challenges, such as health issues, tragedy, injustice or loss.

I pondered this award and thought of PJ~

I present the Award to PJ at poeticjourney251.com. She is genuine, kind, and faithful in both her poems and her comments to her readers. She continues to lift our spirits and inspire us with her “Thought of the Day,” “Thought of the Night” and “Word to the Wise.” PJ has faced some difficult times personally and has turned her circumstances into beautiful poems and inspiring posts for her readers.  When I visit her, she radiates love, optimism, perseverance and her extremely strong faith in God.   I, personally, am inspired and in awe of her strength.  It is for these reasons, that I nominate PJ for the 1-in-100 Warrior Award.

I hand her this admirable award with a smile and a hug~

Before I close, I thank you all for your continuing support, likes, comments, and love and I wish you a wonderful week!

Lauren 🙂

Very Inspiring Blogger & Sunshine Award :)

 Hello Everyone,

I have received four new awards recently and will be “accepting” two of them in this post.  The other two will follow; thank you for your patience and time, in advance~

The Very Inspiring Blogger and Sunshine Award were given to me by my dear friend and blogging sister, Caddo Veil, caddoveil.wordpress.com.  It would be hard for me to believe that you all haven’t visited her, yet, but, if, for some unknown reason, you haven’t, please do!  Her blog is a jar full of smiles, inspiration, spiritual guidance, hope and love.  You will not be disappointed!  Thank you, Caddo, for these two wonderful nominations.  I am very honored and grateful that you thought of me!   Just the thought of my blog inspiring and creating smiles for my readers is enough for joyful tears!

As you know, there are “rules” for accepting these awards.  First of all, I am supposed to answer 10 questions about myself that might interest you; that’s a tough one, but I’ll give it a try! 🙂

Fave Colors:  Blue, purple, red (it’s hard to choose just one)

Fave Animal:  Dog, no doubt, but I’d love to own a dolphin, tiger, lion, koala bear and anything else cuddly!

Fave Number:  I really don’t have one, but I always say “5” for my family of 4 + the family dog (we’ll be adopting soon) (keeping our Lucky Girl in our hearts) ♥

Fave Drink:  water, non-fat vanilla lattes, peach iced tea

Prefer Facebook or Twitter:  Facebook for my poetry page and I’m not on my personal page as often, but do have it.  I don’t think I’ll ever tweet!  There aren’t enough hours in a day~

My Passion:  Family, Writing, Reading, Helping others, trying to be the best person with God’s guidance

Prefer “giving”, or “receiving” presents:  I get so much pleasure from giving, but it is fun to receive, too!

Fave Pattern:  plaid (love plaid shirts)

Fave Day of the Week:  Fridays, looking forward to the weekend with my family, but thankful for each day~

Fave Flower:  Alstroemeria – they come in pinks, oranges, yellows and reds and are just beautiful, not to mention, they last forever, which is always a benefit! I also love carnations!

Nominations for both awards: (if there’s a number limit, I’m modifying :))

Shaheen:    http://bloodinkdiary.wordpress.com
Teecee:       http://teeceecounsel.wordpress.com
Wendell:    http://foreverpoetic.wordpress.com

Nominees are in alphabetical order and some of these bloggers I’ve known for awhile.  They have spread their sunshine and inspiration throughout the blogging universe and have touched me with their poetry, thoughts, photography, advice~A few of the others are still new to me. However, in the short time I’ve perused their sites, I’ve been moved by their compassion and love through their experiences, poetry and photography, as well.  I encourage you all to take time to stop by their blogs, if you haven’t already made their acquaintance.  Again, you won’t be disappointed, but, you will be inspired!

I give thanks to those I’ve nominated for bringing inspiration and cheerfulness to my blogging experience and again, thank you, Caddo, for these two very special nominations!  Hugs and Peace to you all!

When I look…

In your eyes
I see star speckled
night skies
azure seas and
calm ocean waves
snowy trees
and soft snowflakes
grand, green meadows
dotted with
wildflowers
I could
linger for hours
In your eyes
I see a
rainbow palette
of vivid colors
and the moonlight glow
makes me thankful
You’re my beau
There’s more
I can tell you today
but I’d rather get lost
and drift away

OBSERVATION

The wind blows
around the corner
touching the man’s brow
His suit pressed to perfection
He smoothly slides into his posh car
and drives away

The bird’s cheerful song
complements the woman’s aura
as she busily chats on her cell phone
Her pencil skirt fits snugly
while she confidently hails a taxi

Across the street
Staying warm with his
old, worn beanie
and thin, weathered coat
huddled against the cold
brick wall,
He watches
and wishes
