To Dad: A Father’s Day Tribute ♥

Mom and Dad wedding 1945

From Air Force days
to a forever blind date
Six decades of sharing love
to his lovely soul mate

He misses her now
but has managed along
with support of three daughters
He’s where he belongs

His memory entertains
from WWII days
amazing those who listen
Is 93 his true age?

He’s able to witness
a senior graduation
He’s so proud of our son
His face wears true elation

Then one incident
shakes up our world
The worst of thoughts
in my mind unfurl

But with God’s blessing
and His ideal timing
this story ends happily
Our sun remains shining

Dad

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DAD and GRANDPA! WE LOVE YOU!
WE HAD A SCARE, BUT WE’RE SO THANKFUL YOU’RE OKAY
AND YOU WERE ABLE TO JOIN US IN CELEBRATING
YOUR GRANDSON’S GRADUATION.

I ALSO SEND LOVING WISHES TO MY HUBBY,
MY FATHER-IN-LAW AND ALL FATHER’S
WHO HAVE LAID A SOLID FOUNDATION
FOR THEIR FAMILIES!

Synchronized Dreams

Stinson Sunset Saturday night

As I lay my head down
I think of your skin
the way it feels
when our loving begins

I think of your shudder
when my journey’s in motion
and
your touch, so soothing

like the tune of the ocean

We ride the waves
though real it seems
we’ll await the moment
not just in our dreams

Monday’s Memo :) (re-post)

Dear, Dear Weekend

Where have you gone

Your visit ended suddenly

I feel so forlorn

but I’ll make it through

the next five days

with smiles and laughter

Confidence and praise

I’ll miss you terribly

though, I’m grateful for this day

and it’s new opportunities

more input for my brain

So until we meet again

I bid you farewell

Stay happy and cheerful

Take care of yourself!

Many of you have seen the original post from last year,
http://lscotthoughts.com/2012/04/23/memo-to-monday/
but it felt right for posting today, again!
Hope you enjoyed a second time, too,
and have a great Monday! ♥

:)

Craving

chocolate

I’m over you completely
Where once was a sweetness
that entranced your heart
now lies a bitter taste
keeping us apart

and no, I don’t crave
your feather kisses
your warm embraces
or your slow, soft touches
that bring delicious tingles

and you don’t hold my mind
captive each and every day
in every moment I’m awake
or star in my dreams
creating an emotional ache

Of course, I don’t need you,
like the air I breathe
in each day to survive

You can be sure
I’m doing just fine
