MEMORIAL DAY MEMORIES AND WISHES XO

Hello Everyone,

I’ll be away this weekend spending
time with my Dad and Sisters,
so I’ll lose blogging momentum,
once again.
If I’m unable to catch up,
I hope your understanding continues
and I’ll see you next week.

Additionally, along with all
the bbqs, gatherings with family
and friends, I sincerley hope
we all remember what this
holiday is genuinely all about…

“OUR MILITARY GAVE UP THEIR TOMORROWS
SO WE COULD HAVE OURS”

It is the
VETERAN
,
 not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the
VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the
 VETERAN,

not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

  It is
the
VETERAN,
 not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN
who
salutes the Flag,

It is
the

VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag,

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD,

AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM~

“THESE ARE TRUE AMERICAN IDOLS

BLESSINGS FOR A SAFE AND COMPASSIONATE

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND~

  1. Happy Memorial Day to you and your family Lauren! I am so glad to hear you are all getting together. This was a wonderful poem and it really is about the Veterans, you said it all beautifully. 🙂 Hugs

    1. Thanks so much, Gabby, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too! I can’t take credit for this post (except my personal note) as it came to me via email. But, I thought it was such a powerful message that I wanted to pass on and share~Hugs, Blessings and Smiles, lots and lots of them! 🙂 xx

  2. Happy Memorial Day, Lauren. And don’t you worry about falling behind with the blogging. I for one know just that that is like. Trying to catch up on old posts for every one is like insane.

    1. And to you, too, Soma! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, too! Our family time was wonderful, yet, short, but I’m planning the next trip already! I have to admit the blogging break was nice or maybe the underlined truth is the computer break! But, it’s good to be back, too! Love and hugs!

  6. Peg Richards

Enjoy your weekend, Lauren. It’s a challenge to keep up on all the wonderful writing, here. No apologies needed. All any of us can do is read where we’re led to read. Your tribute to veterans is wonderful. My son served in Iraq. There’s a tender place in my heart for anyone who has served our country and also for anyone who has remained behind at home while a son, daughter, mother, brother, father, sister or dear friend has served. (((Hugs))), Peg

    1. Thanks, Peg, and for your compassionate understanding about blog reading. It’s to tough not to be able to read everything, but you’re right…we read when we can and do the best we can…Tribute to Veterans is such a tender subject and one we can not understand, unless we have a loved one who has served…I send you hugs back for being a Mom of a son who served, but I commend him, also~I don’t know anyone directly, but I wanted to convey the true reason of this past holiday~I’m glad you liked it…xx
