Saturday Spark

I shared this poem before but made a few revisions and recorded again. There’s so much going on around us to stir up anxiety, but we’re also surrounded by beauty that makes us pause, feeling a sense of awe. So, try releasing the chaos that worries you and accept my invitation to get out in nature and enjoy the moment.

Angles of Wisdom

My eyes look up
to the tallest trees
on our precious planet
and I am drawn into stillness
like a hypnotist’s magic.

Fine slivers of blue
calm thoughts
becoming thieves,
stealing pockets of peace.

Soft clusters of green
gently dance in a breeze
while nature’s wildlife
build their playgrounds.

Sparrows and blackbirds
croon for their mates.
I ruminate
on how these majestic giants
take care of each other,
unconditionally –
we should emulate
without deliberation.

My eyes look up
and I am reminded
of their age
ancient as dinosaurs
that roamed the land.

Angles of wisdom
permeate my space –
eyes slowly close.
I breathe in
and savor this moment
that is mine to own.

Have a fabulous weekend! ❤️

      1. You’re sooo welcome! So true. I think we are in different places or grow or open in some way and we see things differently. I love love love the message! You are right! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  1. I love it, Lauren! And if only more of us could learn this lesson from glorious trees: “…these majestic giants
    take care of each other,
    unconditionally –.” ❤️🌲❤️

  2. Beautiful writing, Lauren. I felt so calm reading your poem, and felt like I was there looking up at the trees with you 🙂 In such a chaotic, dynamic world, it is such moments that bring us a bit of stillness – to pause and ground ourselves. “while nature’s wildlife…build their playgrounds.” Love this line. Wildlife roam as they please, play across lands and space. I think we could all be reminded of that – away from all the noise, we can just be and appreciate the present. Hope you are doing well 😊💕

    1. Thanks for your beautiful and thoughtful words, Mabel. I’m glad my words provided some calming. I need it too and it helps to write and fun to recite too. All is well and hope you’re doing well too! 💖

  3. Beautiful poem, and I do feel calmer after reading it. Thank you, Lauren!

Not much nature to revel in where I am, but art has become a forest inside and outside of me.

I can walk to the Art Gallery, and I will be there Tuesday to view an exhibition in Impressionist art. Very excited.

Thank you so much for this calm moment and

    HAPPY FOURTH!

    XOXOXOXO

    1. Thanks, Resa, and I’m so glad! I love how art has become the forest for you. A poetic statement. Hope you have a wonderful time on Tuesday! Our 4th was mellow but nice. Sending love and hugs! ❤️🌟🌻🥰🤗🦋

      1. The hugs arrived! 🙂 Yes, I’m working on 2 more pieces for contests and editing and adding poems to another collection for submission. I think I’m going cross-eyed! 🙂 Sorry I’m not around as much, but I’m trying to pop in a couple times a month. Along with working on projects, it’s as though a switch flipped because I just don’t have the energy anymore. 😦 Hope all is well with you. I miss you and everyone! ❤️🌻

      2. YAY!!! 🤗🤗🤗

You know, Lauren, ever since I began blogging when I felt like it, for the joy, for the friendships… which is a post once a week or less – maybe a half hour of comments one night…1 hour another.. I feel great about it all.

No exhaustion, or pressure is to be demanded.

I find a more relaxed blogging schedule, clears the chaff. Those you really enjoy and those who enjoy you still come around.

This is not a serial “Likes” contest.
WP is so fab because the community is a creative one. Artists from all genres of the arts gather here, and we get great feedback.

I understand some need/want to sell books, art, photos…. So, they can blog all they want, but unless your product goes viral, or you have MANY books to sell, your sell power and income from it is somewhat limited.

My “buy” power is limited. And with the way things have been going last couple of years, that power is less.

Submitting to book publishers, monetarily rewarding and/or high profile contests or publications is good.
And just like when you self publish, at that point one can pick up blogging speed to help push it along.

Egads… I’m as yakky as Foghorn Leghorn!

        OXOXOXOXOXOXO

      3. I love your comments, Resa, and I feel the same way as you. Who knows? I might pick up speed later down the road. You’re so funny! Thanks for the wonderful friendship and support. I appreciate you! XOXOXOXOXO
