Nature’s TV – Friday’s Poetry

These are photos from past lake camping & backpacking trips. Beauty at its best, don’t you agree? We plan to get back to the lake next summer, but we had to pass this year because our favorite campground is being renovated. Poetic thoughts spill out from things I see, emotions, events, family, and nature. Nature always inspires.
So, won’t you join me at the lake? Have a seat, sip something cold, and simply ‘be.’

Nature’s TV

A moment to reflect
lake glimmers

in sunshine’s embrace
ripples shimmy across surface
dragonflies soar like mini gliders

feathered friends paddle away
after a brief “hello”
muscles and mind feel gratitude

no screen of any size
only Nature’s TV

I hope you enjoyed your time at the lake. Thank you for joining me!
Happy Friday, and I wish you a tranquil weekend. 💚

    1. Thanks so much for your lovely words, Carol Anne. In addition to the poem, many colors and scents add to a tranquil moment by the lake: the soothing blues and cool grays of the water, the vibrant yellows and oranges of the sunshine, the smell of freshly cut grass is the color of green on the leaves of the trees, along with the sandy shore that bare feet revel in. Hugs, my friend ❤️

    1. Thanks for your lovely words, Maggie, and I’m so glad you loved the poem and photos. I thought it would nice to share some tranquility to end the week. It’s our favorite lake, so we can’t wait to go next year. Lots of love and big hugs back to you, my friend. ❤️🥰🌻

      1. Absolutely Lauren x
I hope you get to revisit next year.
It does look a very special place.
Always my pleasure to read your words my friend.
Lots of love and many hugs back to you 🥰❤️🦋

  1. Of course I enjoyed spending time at the Lake! Both the photos and the poem. Not to mention no TV. We always enjoy escaping the noise of the modern world! Sorry you won’t make it up there this year.

    1. I have no doubt that you would enjoy time at the lake, Curt. 🙂 The campground is in the process of renovations, so it’s closed this year. But we plan to go next year, most likely renting a Rec Van like we did last year. Not sure that my back will like sleeping on the ground anymore. But we’ll see. If I feel good, then maybe we’ll camp, or better yet, do a little backpacking. I don’t want to say that bp is behind me, but I also have to be realistic. So time will tell. Anyway, thanks and enjoy your weekend!

      1. We owned two Pleasure Way vans over 20 years and loved them, Lauren. A blow up mattress in a big tent provides a comfy bed. I’m sure you will like whatever will allow you to enjoy the lake in relative comfort.

  2. Thank you for airing “Nature’s Channel”! It’s a great show.

Your pics are lovely, Lauren. You have a wonderful weekend, too!

      1. I needed a break. I’m into the TV movies, which run 2 + hours.
On top of it all, my B-i-L died in a freak boat accident yesterday. (in Manitoba… Lake Winnipeg)He had his life jacket on, so they are doing an autopsy.
I was up all night with my niece, on the phone last night.
        SIGH!!

      2. Oh no, I’m so sorry, Resa! That’s so tragic! I’ll be thinking of you and sending comforting hugs. Email me if you want to talk. I’m here. Lots of love coming your way too. ❤️❤️❤️

      3. Thank you, dear Lauren!
        XOXOXO
I’m good. Being creative is always the remedy for me. I’ve started a new drawing, and will escape into a couple of Emmy shows tonight.

      1. Yes, full week weekends are pretty great, though I have warn you, I have less spare time now than when I was working 60-hour weeks! 😂

  3. A wonderful post with such gorgeously blue photos, Lauren… and lovely thoughts by the side, or at the heart of it all, I think 😊 A nice image too, “Nature’s TV”… beautifully rhyming with “Simply be” – it feels like this would be one TV having us “off” instead of “on” more often ☺
