These are photos from past lake camping & backpacking trips. Beauty at its best, don’t you agree? We plan to get back to the lake next summer, but we had to pass this year because our favorite campground is being renovated. Poetic thoughts spill out from things I see, emotions, events, family, and nature. Nature always inspires.
So, won’t you join me at the lake? Have a seat, sip something cold, and simply ‘be.’
Nature’s TV
A moment to reflect
lake glimmers
in sunshine’s embrace
ripples shimmy across surface
dragonflies soar like mini gliders
feathered friends paddle away
after a brief “hello”
muscles and mind feel gratitude
no screen of any size
only Nature’s TV
I hope you enjoyed your time at the lake. Thank you for joining me!
Happy Friday, and I wish you a tranquil weekend. 💚

Beautiful photos, Lauren!
Thanks, Sheila! 💕
Gorgeous poem Lauren, wish I could see the pics, I bet they’re stunning! ❤
Thanks so much for your lovely words, Carol Anne. In addition to the poem, many colors and scents add to a tranquil moment by the lake: the soothing blues and cool grays of the water, the vibrant yellows and oranges of the sunshine, the smell of freshly cut grass is the color of green on the leaves of the trees, along with the sandy shore that bare feet revel in. Hugs, my friend ❤️
What a delight! My senses are loving it! 💜💜
I’m so glad, Carol Anne! Thanks again! ❤️🤗
Almost a lost art. Love this.
One of my favorite types of art. Thanks, Violet! 💞
A lovely restful poem.
Thanks, Robbie. I’m glad you enjoyed this. I thought Friday deserved some tranquility. 🥰
🌞💝
Thanks for taking us along and I’m sure you look forward to returning next summer
I’m glad you joined me, Beth, and yes we do. 🙂 Have a good weekend! 🥰
Thank you for this beautiful escape dear Lauren. Lovely poem and photos. Enjoy!
I’m glad you enjoyed this lake serenity, Holly. Thank you! We look forward to going again next year. Until then, our memories transport us. 💖
It’s such a beautiful scene I can transport myself there just through your photos. A wonderful getaway. ❤️
Aww, that’s wonderful, Holly, and what I was hoping to convey. It’s a beautiful lake without the touristy stuff. Can’t wait to go next year. I’m glad you enjoyed this. 🥰
I get that, I would be wanting to get there as soon as possible. 😘
When our dog gets up on the back of the couch to look out the window, we often comment on how it’s as if she’s watching her nature show on TV.
Exactly, and it’s the best TV show that doesn’t cost anything or very little, and doesn’t need streaming!
I love the title of ypur poem Lauren, and a very beautiful poem it is.
The lake looks so serene and peaceful.
Nature at its best🙏
Thank you for sharing.
Lots of love and many warm hugs to you xoxoxox
Thanks for your lovely words, Maggie, and I’m so glad you loved the poem and photos. I thought it would nice to share some tranquility to end the week. It’s our favorite lake, so we can’t wait to go next year. Lots of love and big hugs back to you, my friend. ❤️🥰🌻
Absolutely Lauren x
I hope you get to revisit next year.
It does look a very special place.
Always my pleasure to read your words my friend.
Lots of love and many hugs back to you 🥰❤️🦋
❣️🌻💫🌺🏕️🥾❤️
Nothing like “Nature’s TV”!
Beautiful journey in images and words, Lauren!
xoxoxoxoxo
Exactly, Marina, and thank you, my friend! Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs and love! xoxoxo
Lovely photos and poem, Lauren. Very peaceful looking.
Thanks for your wonderful words, John! I’m glad you enjoyed this touch of tranquility.
😊
So beautiful! Nature’s poetry joined by yours.
Thank you for your lovely words! 💞
Of course I enjoyed spending time at the Lake! Both the photos and the poem. Not to mention no TV. We always enjoy escaping the noise of the modern world! Sorry you won’t make it up there this year.
I have no doubt that you would enjoy time at the lake, Curt. 🙂 The campground is in the process of renovations, so it’s closed this year. But we plan to go next year, most likely renting a Rec Van like we did last year. Not sure that my back will like sleeping on the ground anymore. But we’ll see. If I feel good, then maybe we’ll camp, or better yet, do a little backpacking. I don’t want to say that bp is behind me, but I also have to be realistic. So time will tell. Anyway, thanks and enjoy your weekend!
We owned two Pleasure Way vans over 20 years and loved them, Lauren. A blow up mattress in a big tent provides a comfy bed. I’m sure you will like whatever will allow you to enjoy the lake in relative comfort.
How wonderful, Curt! We shall see! 🙂
I’m sure you’ll find a way to get back to your lake!
Thank you for airing “Nature’s Channel”! It’s a great show.
Your pics are lovely, Lauren. You have a wonderful weekend, too!

Hi Resa, I’m glad you enjoyed this channel! It is a great show and one of the best! 🙂
Thank you! I know you’re busy, so I appreciate you stopping by! xoxo ❤️🤗🦋
I needed a break. I’m into the TV movies, which run 2 + hours.
On top of it all, my B-i-L died in a freak boat accident yesterday. (in Manitoba… Lake Winnipeg)He had his life jacket on, so they are doing an autopsy.
I was up all night with my niece, on the phone last night.
SIGH!!
xoxoxoxo
Oh no, I’m so sorry, Resa! That’s so tragic! I’ll be thinking of you and sending comforting hugs. Email me if you want to talk. I’m here. Lots of love coming your way too. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, dear Lauren!
XOXOXO
I’m good. Being creative is always the remedy for me. I’ve started a new drawing, and will escape into a couple of Emmy shows tonight.
🌹❦🌟xoxo
You’re welcome, Resa, and keep drawing and enjoy the shows tonight. Hugs, dear friend! ❤️ xoxo

“Nature’s TV” – I like that! I do miss being around water. Lovely photos!
Thanks, Dawn! We love the ocean, but more so, freshwater lakes, and can’t wait to return to this one next year. 💕
Lovely! And great photos. Though you’re not away at your favourite campsite, I hope you nonetheless have an enjoyable weekend, Lauren. ☀️
Thanks so much, Steve! We’ll get there next year. Until then, we have memories and photos. 🙂 Wishing you the same! It’s always nice when Friday arrives. 😎
My pleasure, Lauren, and yes it is fun to have things to look forward to! 😎
Well, until we retire, we live for the weekends. 🥰 I think next year will be the year, so again, can’t wait! 🤗
Yes, full week weekends are pretty great, though I have warn you, I have less spare time now than when I was working 60-hour weeks! 😂
Too funny, Steve! I’ll take it though! Enjoy, my friend! 🙂
😊
Love the poem 💗💗💗
Thanks so much, Bella! ❤️
You’re welcome!
A beautiful place to vacation
It is, Sadje, and can’t wait to return next year. 🙂
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I love the blue sky!!
Nature is the best reality television around—not these ridiculous shows posing as reality.
I agree, Pete! Enjoy your weekend! 😊
Looks and sounds like a relaxing time. Thank you for sharing, Lauren and a beautiful weekend to you. 🦋
This lake is so beautiful and peaceful, so we can’t wait to go back next year. Thanks, Michele, and wishing you the same. 💗😍
There really is nothing like a peaceful lake. Dream destination and so restorative. Thank you! 🌄💗

It’s the best show, isn’t it, Hazel? Thanks for your lovely words and enjoy your weekend. 💗💫
Absolutely, Lauren. Have a blessed Sunday! My pleasure.
You too, Hazel! 🌺
Nothing more beautiful than nature’s art, and the proof is in your lovely poem, Lauren. 🦋🌻🐞💚
I agree about nature’s art, Eugi, and I appreciate your lovely words. 💕💐🌷
Most welcome, Lauren.
Simply “be” – brilliant, Lauren!
Thanks, Wynne! Enjoy your weekend! 💞
A wonderful post with such gorgeously blue photos, Lauren… and lovely thoughts by the side, or at the heart of it all, I think 😊 A nice image too, “Nature’s TV”… beautifully rhyming with “Simply be” – it feels like this would be one TV having us “off” instead of “on” more often ☺
Thanks for your lovely comment, Nicole, and I love your final thought: “it feels like this would be one TV having us “off” instead of “on” more often.” I think you are spot on. 🥰
Nature… Totally Viable for all our needs! ❤
Yes! Glad you agree, Annette! 💞
Beats TV for interest every time. I don’t watch much TV.
I agree, Ian. We have a few favorites and that’s it. 😊
Your photos are so beautiful that they instantly whisk me away to that place. It feels like the perfect escape.
