Hubby and I are the proud landlords of a couple of feathered friends. They both worked hard to build a nest for their babies and chose our hanging ladder for the base. Needless to say, we are not moving the ladder until they relocate! Friday morning, I was lucky to get some photos while I quietly stepped outside. When I walked a little farther, they fled, landing on the power line, and watching me like a hawk, I’m sure.

That evening, we tried a new restaurant. A little wine bar in downtown that also serves Sonoran food. With an elegant, yet cozy ambience, the environment was inviting, and the food, delicious! We tried one of their burritos, ate half, so enjoyed two meals out of them. But first, we savored wine and good conversation before diving into dinner. A myriad of music genres in the background played a role in this wonderful dining experience. As we strolled back to our car, we passed a garden of stunning roses. I couldn’t help but stop to tap away on my cell for some pics.

I hope you enjoyed my nature exhibit and poems. ๐ Now, onto the books! ๐
Yesterday, Japan joined the US and made Tranquility: An Anthology of Haiku a #1 Amazon Bestseller, too, and in Gabriela’s post today, she features two of my haiku…

Lastly, my presence in the next week or two may be spotty as I’m drilling down on bringing my ‘Copper’ book to print. However, I’ve run into another glitch (gotta love those glitches that challenge us). But I’m persevering because this book means a lot to me. Of course, all books hold special meanings for their authors. ๐
Anyway, thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting my corner of blogland. I hope you’ve enjoyed your time here enough to return. And I wish you peace, happiness, and lots of love! โค๏ธ

Thanks for your lovely and supportive words, Maggie. I know, the birds and their strange places for building their homes. ๐ But it is so cool and special to see them and to listen to their singing. I know Copper’s wagging his tail on the Rainbow Bridge; thank you for that. ๐ And I won’t exhaust myself. If anything, the tech glitches are so frustrating. ๐ Anyway, lots of love and huge hugs to you, my friend. xoxoxo โค๏ธ๐ค๐ซ
Hi Lauren, I know, little birdies sing the sweetest songs ๐ค
Ah, the tech glitches ๐ make you want to scream.
Sometimes stepping away is best, but I know you are keen to finish Copper’s book.
Lots of love back to you dear friend xoxox
Have a good week โค๏ธ๐โค๏ธ
Sweetest is right, Maggie, and so is scream! ๐ I do the same as you, step away, and then usually when I return, things go the right way. Key word is ‘usually.’ ๐ Have a good week too, dear friend, and thanks for everything! Hugs and love again!
xoxoxo ๐๐บ๐
It is all part of the experience Lauren, but I have on occasion thought of throwing my PC threw a window ๐
Thank you Lauren and you are so welcome xoxox
Love and hugs from my little corner of the globe to you โค๏ธ๐๐
OMG, I can relate, Maggie! So far, my laptop is a survivor! ๐๐
Lol Lauren ๐

What a post! You had my mouth watering with that wet burrito, looks delish. The flowers look fantastic and have me longing to smell some wild fresh ones here. Congrats on the anthology hitting number one twice!! That my friend, is awesome!!! And as far as tech glitches go… I feel for you, I really do. I am eagerly awaiting to get a copy of your book about Copper.
Good luck and Have a great day..
What a comment, Ernie! Thank you! And I laughed at “you had my mouth watering with that wet burrito…” It was SO good, and those roses were incredible. I appreciate your kind words about the anthology, and I’m so happy for Gabriela who created the work of art, and for all the authors. I know you relate to the glitches, but I hope you’re making progress. And I appreciate your support of my ‘Copper’ book. I can’t wait to get a copy too. ๐ Have a wonderful day, my friend.
Lovely ๐งก๐งก
Thanks so much, Shreya! ๐๐ท
Lucky landlords
We sure are, Beth! It’s special to listen to their singing. ๐
Oh, that ladder offers such good visuals. How fun that you have so much beauty, birds and blooms nearby! And I’m so glad you are bringing the Copper book to fruition!
What a heartwarming post all the way around, Lauren. It’s nice when we can lend nature a helping hand. The restaurant sounds lovely but the photos of the roses are stunning! I can almost smell them. How wonderful you are working on Copper’s book. I know it will be special. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for your wonderful words, Jan, and I’m happy you enjoyed all aspects of this post. The birds have quite a musical repertoire too. ๐ I appreciate your kind words about my Copper book too. Hope you’re doing better each day. ๐
What an uplifting post! Thanks for sharing all your good.
Thanks, Elizabeth! I’m glad you enjoyed all the good! ๐ฅฐ
๐
I loved the photos, Lauren. Your bird friends have picked a good spot.
I’m glad, John, and we’re happy to have them. Though, I hope we don’t need the ladder anytime soon. ๐ Thanks for dropping in!
If you need a ladder, I hope your neighbor has one.
I think he does, John. ๐
Good.
Beautiful photos interspersed with beautiful poetry. Have a great day, Lauren.
Thanks for your lovely words, Anneli, and wishing you the same. ๐
All parts of Being – all beautiful Bs!
Congratulations on the bird tenants and Gabriela’s anthology!
Your Copper book must be such a roller-coaster of emotions!
Sending love and many many hugs and more love!

All beautiful Bs – love it, Marina! ๐ Thanks for your good wishes on Gabriela’s book, and you’re right about Copper’s book. It begins with his ‘gotcha day’ and how much joy he brought into our lives, then segues into his passing and the grieving, hoping to provide comfort to those experiencing the loss of their pets. Lots of love and hugs to you, my friend! xoxoxoxo โค๏ธ๐ฅฐ๐ค๐ท
I enjoy watching the wee creatures, as well, Lauren. Looks like a good restaurant. Good luck with the book.
Thanks for your lovely words, Mary, and I’m glad the birds resonated with you. I appreciate your good wishes about the book too. Have a good week ahead! ๐
I love your new tenants!!! You are such gracious landlords, Lauren!!
Aren’t they sweet, Rebecca? We’re happy to provide a foundation for their home. And they’re getting braver, staying on the next while we walk around. That makes us feel good. Thank you and Hugs!
We have a Robin family growing under our deck. I don’t mind them but there also two birds that were trying to build a nest near our outside door. They didn’t like that we had to come and go. I think they gave up trying to build a nest in the light. I felt kind of guilty. . . but I wasn’t planning on being a hermit for the next four months. Ha. ha. Beautiful shots. Good luck with the Copper book! A great book for a great dog!
That’s cool about the Robin family, and I wouldn’t want to be a hermit either, Brian. ๐ Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the pics, and I appreciate your good wishes for the book. So far, I’m hitting walls with glitches, but I hope they’ll be resolved soon.
Keep plugging away. The glitches will go away soon. ๐
Love this joy filled post! Thank you for making my day, by sharing some of yours!
Thanks so much, Annette! I’m happy to share and glad you enjoyed the joy! ๐ฅฐ
Your post provided an enjoyable respite. Thank you!
I’m so glad, Liz, thank you! ๐ฅฐ
You’re welcome, Lauren!
Yo, this piece rolls like a late-night subway train โ all mood, all movement, no fixed destination. Iโm digginโ the way you layer those senses โ โfeel it โฆ awaken โฆ driftingโ โ like stacking beats under a freestyle. You got that quiet, restless kind of street poetry that donโt need a megaphone โ just a little chill, a groovy drift, and a whole lotta soul. Respect. ๐ฅณ
Thank you so much! ๐
I love to have creatures choose to live in our surrounds to grace us with their beauty and antics.
It’s pretty special, Ian, and so is the birdsong. ๐
Poetically written, Ian!
I have a nest in the rafters on my apartment balcony. It’s been home to different birds for 3 years now. Last year, for a Robin and 3 babies and the nest was tiny, barely even a nest. This year, it’s finch, and it looks like a rats nest, just a big clump of grasses and bits of material and debris they find. I’m just glad all these birds, who scatter when I put seeds out, still decided my balcony was the safest place to build a nest!
That’s really cool, Ken! It’s special when they feel safe in unusual places around our homes.
So compassionate of you two to look after the bird parents. ๐ Dinner and roses. Nice! Have a wonderful week. ๐๏ธ๐น
We love having them as tenants, Michele. ๐ Thanks for your lovely comment, and I wish you the same. xo
The blog is filled with stuff that I love: flowers, birds, and books. Wonderful, Lauren.
I wonder if there is anyone who doesn’t love flowers, birds, and books, Hazel. I’m glad you enjoyed this post! Have a wonderful week ahead! ๐ xo

FYI : I went over to read both Haiku. Nicely done Lauren!
I did leave a like, but as I didn’t see a normal follow or powered by WP, I did not leave a comment.
I am so Spam bitten, I have probably become overly cautious.
xoxoxo
Thanks for flying to the other site, Resa. And no worries about comments. I appreciate your support and ‘likes.’ Have a great day, dear friend. xoxoxo
Congratulations, Lauren!
Thanks so much, Dawn! ๐
I adore how you captured the peaceful vibe of the birds and nature, and your haiku is just beautiful โค๏ธIโm sure Copper is going to be just as special. Best of luck with it all โ Iโm sure the glitches will sort themselves out.
Thanks for your wonderful comment, Ritish, and I’m so glad you appreciated this post. And I appreciate your good wishes too! I’m sure they will, but I’m still working on it. โค๏ธ
Awww that is so sweet. I love our feathered friends. Recently on a walk with my kid, we ran across a little hummingbird lying on the floor of the sidewalk, she must be sick or dying. We picked her up and put her safely, so she does not get trampled. We offered it nectar to revive it. Alas I don’t think she made it.
I have read that in classical India even royalty would forsake their dining tables for a time if a bird wished to nest there.
Thatโs beautiful!
I thought so too. So much cultural insight to be gained from that one simple fact, eh?
Definitely, Ana!
Your haiku are stunning Lauren! I love writing haiku’s. I’m so excited for the copper book release day! I’ve got my copy preordered! X
Thanks so much, Carol Anne! I appreciate your support and kindness! Hugs ๐ค๐๐
