All-consuming are these
Murky, long winter evenings
Becoming mood changers,
Impeding hours spent in daylight –
Except there is a means to
Navigate through the blackness…
Candles! Let them emerge from hiding;
Entertain their glow and coziness.
Thank you for stopping by
and stay warm!
Lauren 💓💓💓
well said, nothing like a long winter evening in front of the fire.
Thanks, Andrew. Between the crackling fires and the glowing candles, winter doesn’t seem so long for us. 🕯🕯🕯
Great picture and words to go with it.
Thanks so much, Molly, for your kind words.
Beautiful way to describe the ambience of a lovely evening. Happiness redefined!
Aww, thank you, Balroop. We try to make the most of them with cozy fires and glowing candles. And we look forward to the long late summer nights, too, but with those come fire season. So, no rushing the days by. 🥰🕯
Each moment is precious Lauren, savor it! 🦋🦋
Oh, we do, believe me. 🙂 I know you do, too. Stay safe and take good care. 💗🌺
What a cosy picture and words. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much, Jane. Sending love and hugs to you! 💖💖💖
Ahh …, Lauren, I am a great believer in candles too and the atmosphere
they bring. So it has been through the ages.
Imagine all the writers who sat by candle light and wrote big manuscripts or poems.
For getting together they create just the right ambience.
Miriam
I can just imagine those writers penning their masterpieces by candlelight, Miriam. We’ve always loved candles for all occasions and now our adult children do, too. 🙂 The ambience the glow creates, along with the crackling fire, is relaxing and tranquil. I appreciate your comment and enjoy the glow. 💗🕯
A beautiful cozy poem, Lauren
Thanks so much, John. Hope you’re having a good Sunday. 🕯🕯🕯
Yes I am. Thanks, Lauren.
I’m going to light some (real) candles in your honor tonight, Lauren. I do have some of those (not real) candles that turn on by themselves (5 p.m. to 11 p.m.) with an invisible timer. Those are nice, but nothing like the real thing. Stay cozy in your rainy weather – so glad it’s finally going to be rainy in the Bay area, and snowy up at Tahoe!!
That’s wonderful, Pam! Enjoy those real candles! We light them all winter long for all occasions because the ambience is so cozy and tranquil. We’re happy the rain is finally arriving too as we’re in dire need. Stay warm and safe. 💗🕯
How cozy and beautiful, Lauren! Candles and the fireplace…
Happy Sunday and week ahead, my friend! xoxoxoxo
Thanks, Marina! The candles and fireplace sure make the winter much more enjoyable. 🙂
Have a good week ahead, too, dear friend. Hugs! 💗🕯💗🕯💗🕯
🥰😍❤😍🥰
Looks cozy and comforting, dear Lauren. Beautifully done. ❤️
Thanks so much, Francina! The coziness makes the winter more enjoyable. 🙂 Hugs! 💖
Candles and a toasty fireplace make a long and cold winter much more tolerable.❤️
They sure do, Jill. Thanks for stopping by and hope you’re staying warm. 🥰
Looks very inviting. I’ll bring some chocolate-scented candles!
Thanks, Binky, and chocolate-scented candles sound divine!
Very cozy, Lauren!
Thanks, Barb! Stay warm! 🥂🕯💗
You’ve set the mood for a warm winter evening by a log fire 🙂
Thanks, Ian. We love our crackling fires and glowing candles on these long, winter nights. 🙂
I love candles, especially the scented ones. Nicely done, Lauren!
Thanks, Mark! I’m glad you know the appeal of candles, too, and the ambience they create. We’ll be lighting some tonight and so glad it’s Friday. Have a good evening!
Candlelight and the glow of a warm fire…what could be better! Beautiful poem, Lauren! Hugs, my friend.
