Another world…

Walk with us into
the magic of autumn
where tree-lined
serenity surrounds…
the old swimming hole
evokes precious
memories of when
they were young.
We stumble upon
a home for one
lucky critter,
but built by who?

We’re touched
by the Compassion
on a bench…
Only a short drive,
but as we walk
in the light rain,
reveling in the

fragrance of a
new season,
it seems we’ve
stepped into

a whole new world.

  1. Good morning, Lauren, Your Fall photos are beautiful and intriguing. A lot going on with this change of seasons. Your poem takes me along on your walk and transports me to some of the trails I walk. β€œ…compassion on a bench…” β€œ…a home for one lucky critter…”. And, yes β€œ…stepped into a whole new world.” I am grateful for this world. Thank you for sharing, Lauren. Happy Thanksgiving! 😊

    1. Thanks, Erica, and after seeing some of your adventurous posts, I think we have some similarities. This walk was a welcomed contrast to our hazy skies lately, and I’m so glad you enjoyed. Our Thanksgiving is next month and it’s hard to believe this year is coming to a close. What a year! Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Monday! πŸ₯°

      1. We had a lot of smoke up our way, too, Lauren. The recent rain is helping clear things up. Yes, what a year. One day at a time. Thank you for sharing your nature notes and photos. It all creates a ripple effect. The good stuff, too. πŸ˜€

  2. Aaah. I feel like I was on the walk with you, Lauren. What a serene setting and lovely finds along the way. The BLM painted rock was especially nice to see. Your poem was the perfect guide. Thanks for the smile. πŸ˜€

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the walk, Diana. This park is our favorite and the whole experience was a refreshing contrast to all the fires. I agree, that BLM rock was very nice to come across. Have a good week and Happy Monday, too. 🧑☺

  3. The beauty of fall… I am never satisfied with trapping the moments, be it in words or pictures! You seem to like it too. What a beautiful walk Lauren. Thanks for taking us along.

    1. With all the backpacking, hiking, and camping we do, Balroop, we feel the same as you do when it comes to nature’s beauty and all that she offers. I’m glad you enjoyed this walk, too. πŸ₯°πŸ‚πŸ

  4. Beautiful Autumn photos Lauren and words…. Nature heals…. I hope you are able to walk mask free when out in Mother Nature…. Many thanks for sharing the beauty you saw… ❀
    Much love your way ❀

    1. Thanks, Sue, and She sure does, doesn’t She? πŸ™‚ Anywhere in public in the park, masks are required. But it was okay. It wasn’t like a strenuous hike, just a leisure stroll to enjoy all the beautiful scenery. I’m glad you enjoyed, as well, and much love to you, too. πŸ§‘πŸ’—πŸ’›πŸπŸ‚πŸ₯°

      1. At least here even though more lockdown rules here soon outdoors in parks and openspaces no mandatory mask wearing… People do not realise how pathogens from breathing constantly behind a mask can affect their health .. or understand these masks do not prevent the virus from penetrating it… as its micro small … But the real science is getting censored to the narrative …. Sending love and well wishes ❀

    1. Thanks, Alison, for your kind words. And I agree with you about having these beautiful scenes to enjoy in the midst of all the turmoil. Hope you’re doing okay. πŸ§‘πŸ‚πŸ

    1. Thanks, my friend, and you don’t have to visit every post. I’m exhausted. πŸ˜€ But you know I appreciate You always! This was a fun day and a gorgeous park close to home. Hugs to you, too! πŸ§‘πŸ‚πŸ

I appreciate your thoughts!
