Imagine the future visible through a magic globe,
what is it you would wish to know?
Would peace of mind follow the facts
or would your mind be less relaxed?
Long awaited answers would fill in the blanks;
no more wondering, but would you give thanks?
Learning the future and after all is said
could strip your days of joy, filling you with dread
So living in the here and now might just be the best
instead of venturing into this mysterious quest

I don’t think I’m the only one whose mind wanders into the future,
especially in the beginning of a new year,
so this is just something fun (or not) to think about.
But for now, I’ll just take each day as it comes
and enjoy the anticipation!

Thanks so much, Soumyav!
A great start to the new year Lauren. Living in the here and now has never been more important to me. Lovely poem expressing the wisdom of living each moment. ❤️ ️XxX
Thanks for all you said, Chris, and I feel the same about living in the here and now (even though I have wondered about things in the future). I appreciate your lovely comment! Hugs! xo
i’m not sure I’d want to look into the future, but I enjoy taking each day as it comes. Beautiful poem.
I agree, Michelle! I’ve often thought of certain things but I wouldn’t really want to know! I just want to enjoy each day as you do! Thanks for your beautiful complement, too! ♥
Probably best just to let it all unfold and revel in that unfolding!
I agree, Jean! Thanks for your input! 🙂
I’d rather not no about my future if it would fill me with dread and spoil my whole day! These are thoughts that I fully agree with!
Thanks so much for your comment, Rodrick, and let’s just continue to enjoy each day as they come! 🙂
So true, Lauren. Love this!
Thanks a bunch, Peg! Hugs and blessings to you!
My new one word philosophy is “Live!” because I wanna live in the moment always and love it.
Awesome poem Lauren!
Thanks, Scott, I agree! I have wondered about some things but I honestly wouldn’t want to know, if there was a possibility knowing could ruin my “todays”! Thanks for your complement and hope you’ve had a great Wednesday!
I think it could be both good and bad, but I wouldn’t mind seeing the lottery numbers!
I agree with you, Binky, it could go either way, but who would want to know bad news in advance? Yep, winning lottery numbers would be nice! 🙂
That is so true. If we knew our future often times it would spoil the present. Good thought!
Thanks so much, Ian..with the new year came some thoughts into the future, which inspired this poem. Glad you enjoyed!
this really got me thinking Lauren, words to ponder…I hope your New Year is off to a fabulous start. All the best to you. Hugs from BC, G
I guess the new year got me thinking, too, Geraldine! 🙂 But I still wouldn’t want to know…my new year is actually starting out very well. I received a $5 an hour raise yesterday. Woohoo! Nice surprise! Hope yours has been good so far, too! Many hugs to you, too, my friend…xoxo
beautiful poem, Lauren. Even I wonder now and then, I would not like to know the future. 🙂 love and hugs from across the pond xo
Thanks, Francina, it’s nice to see you and I often wonder how you’re doing. 🙂 Yes, even though I wonder about the future, I wouldn’t want to really know! Much love and many hugs to you, too, across the pond! xoxo
Lovely poem and so true! Sometimes I’d really like to know what the future will bring me. But other things can remain hidden, if you ask me… It’s a 50/50 thing, I guess 😉
Thanks, Iris, and I think you’re right about the 50/50 thing. But in the meantime, let’s live in the here and now and enjoy each moment, right? 🙂 ♥
Enjoying the anticipation is a great way to live! Be in the here and now, as you explain so nicely in your poem! Hugs, Lauren!!
Thanks, Christy, taking each day as it comes is probably the healthier option, wouldn’t you say? That’s what I’m doing and I’m sure you’re doing the same! Each time you visit, your smile brightens my day. Thanks, my friend, and wishing you a great week ahead! Hugs back!
Oh Lauren, how lovely your comment here is. Thank you dear friend for being a part of my world. You make my smile brighter too, and knowing I have that same effect on you is such a gift. HUGS
Thoughtful words Lauren, dont think I want to know the future.
We are born and we die, what we do in between is what counts.
Our life is already written and forecast in the chronicles of life.
Hope the forecast of your life is happiness and love.
I don’t either, Ian, even though I have wondered and wandered into the future. 🙂 It’s something to think about, isn’t it? I love your poetic response, which is oh, so true. Thank you, my friend, and I hope your forecast is the same! 🙂
So nice to see you all fresh and raring to go after a short hiatus dear Lauren…and, probably, game to continue living each day as fully as it comes, in keeping with the message of your sweet little poem…? Best wishes for the year ahead…Raj.
Thanks so much, Raja, for your kindhearted words and yes, take each day as it comes and enjoy the anticipation! 🙂 I hope your year is filled with much inspiration, love and happiness! Have a great week ahead, too!
Try as hard as I can dear but mind is a wanderer its very difficult to not to peek in the past or future.
I know, it is hard sometimes to not peek because as you read, I have done it before. But it’s probably best to live each day and see what happens 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Indira and sorry for the late reply! Blessings to you…
