Realization

This is a first for me! It’s 4:00 am and I can’t sleep! A billion thoughts swirl around in my mind and I toss and turn more times than clothes in a dryer! Hubby sleeps like a baby. Go figure! The decision is made to get out of bed. Why not? If we were on the east coast, we’d be enjoying coffee already. So, Good morning! The good thing is that today is Friday, the end of the work week.

A quick foot update, I’ve been pain-free for a week now, most likely from all your love, support, and positivity. I like the sound of that, don’t you? I still kind of hold my breath each day not knowing if a jolt will come. But it’s a miracle that I’ve jotted down a zero in my pain diary for 8 days straight. I did get a second opinion, and the doctor was very nice. He actually concurred with the other doctor’s diagnosis: neuritis or plantar fasciitis. It could be from wearing unsupportive shoes (though comfy) over the years along with aging, that the heel nerve became agitated. But I think I’m on the mend (knock on wood). I hope I’m on the mend. Will the pain return? I don’t know. But I’ve made modifications, so only time will tell. And I have your suggestions for if the pain worsens. In the meantime, I’m living life, gradually getting back into my walking routine. Thanks again for ‘being there.’ 🙏🏻🩷

Anyway, I’m leaving you with a poem to calm your mind…

Do you need rest,
solitude for your
heart and mind?
Accept it,
don’t be shy
to admit
a fraction of you
needs only
to hear silence.

Let stillness
enfold you
in its calming
embrace
where the depths
of your thoughts
can flourish
from their
lingering state
.

Have a wonderful weekend! ❤️

Alluring Altitude

Not a sound can be heard
Except an occasional chirp
And the wind’s whisper
Gliding through evergreens
Protecting from sun’s burning rays

Peace flows through veins
Its gentle movement calms the mind
As fragrance renews all senses

With my love beside me,
Gratitude embodies my heart
Together we stay mesmerized
Sitting on the shore
Watching the dragonflies
And reveling in the melody of silence

We’re off to the lake next week, so I’ll be disconnected from technology.
It’ll be good to get away and unwind in the fresh mountain air.
I’ll see you when I return, and in the meantime, I want to give a Big
“Thanks” to all of you who pop in a regular basis and to those who
visit now and then. All I can hope for is to write a poem or story
that resonates with you, so that you’ll have a special take-away
each time you leave. Thank you, Thank you! I appreciate you so
much! Stay well, stay happy, stay healthy! Love, Lauren

The world suffers.
The patio is

our shield.
Wine fills

crystal
we’re careful
not to shatter

like human lives
across the globe.

The dog snores
without a care.
Hummingbirds

fly like
the Blue Angels.

A warm breeze
winds its way
in between us
and the roses
.

Silence –
a soothing
melody.

And yet,
we know
what lies
on the

other side
of silence.

The world aches
where peace
is far removed
from day-to-day.

and I wish you all a peaceful Friday
and weekend.)

Peace
flows
through
my

masking
any sliver

holding
me
in
chains

Fragrance
renews all
senses,
shifting my
state
of
mind,
releasing
any

Gratitude
